***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Yeah tell me about it, its a hot puppy, i'm not fussed about 80c, if it gets to ~90c then i will panic.
Does seem incredibly hot for that clockspeed humbug, what cooler are you using? Got a 930 here in my second rig, at 4.0ghz under a secondhand thermalright ultra extreme it hits mid 60's in games like bf3.

Quite a lot of people have said windows 8 runs it a lot better.

Yeah was quite surprised how well it ran. Will have to run some more benchmarks later see if it still runs smooth without crashes. May also try turning hyperthreading off see if it makes any difference.

Averaging 70fps here, ultra settings, SLI 780's, 4770K @ 4.5GHz windows7, getting a bit of stuttering but fps is well above 60fps so assuming it's because it's beta, well I'm hoping so anyway. Oh, 120hz refresh and 331.40

This is true I tried my 3570k at 4.8ghz and it still couldn't handle my single 7950 on bf4 64 players.

Can't wait for my upgrade :)

just ran ultra everything

on win8 pro same set up as you (my cpu isnt as high as your 4.4 )

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
3807, 60000, 52, 80, 63.450

hehe i5 cant handle it :D

lol at bait something wrong then cause im avg 105 fps on win 8 nearly same set up. on ultra probably be hitting 60 fps now avg lol.

best thing is its been benchmarked and shown that at 1080 a i5 will actually be same or quicker with one card hahaha.

Yes I can play on low and run round at over 100fps.

Its ultra settings 64 players in the action where the i5 falls to pieces.

Bf4 physics are done on the cpu if your running on low then you wont have this problem.

Ok some basic testing on 4 vs 8 threads using an Intel core i7 4770K @ 4.6ghz with a GTX780 Phantom GLH @ 1110/6200.

All ultra preset, all on a busy 64 player conquest round, 5 minutes of testing aka me getting killed...

8 Threads HT on:

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
56655, 726062, 42, 123, 78.031

CPU Usage ~ 70% on each thread, GPU 99% near constantly.

Felt lovely, nice and smooth.

4 Threads HT Disabled:

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
4628, 64937, 29, 89, 71.269

CPU usage at around a constant 98%, GPU usage fluctuating, it did hit 99% on a couple of occasions, I will get some better details on this shortly

Quite jerky to play, really feel those lows.

More to come!

When the building fell my CPU spiked, it spikes during explosions..... i don't know what effect its having on performance as i have no ingame monitoring.

sort it out MSI :)

Hi guys,

i registered here, after i saw a lot of people having problems.
I am from Germany, so please keep that in mind, because my english is ....
I hope you can understand everything :D

Ok i just want to help, so what you can do is, if your FPS drops drastically even if you have a good PC.

1. Start BF4 than switch to your taskmanager and switch priority of BF 4 to low, that will help.

2. Another tip in our german forums are, that you will have a great boost if you are running the game on windows 8.1.

3. CPUs with 8 Cores ore more run this game better but with the two tips above the i5 users will gain more fps and whats important is, you will gain more min fps and it will not drop so hard.

Hope this will help you guys and greetings from Germany.

You signed up, from Germany to tell us that, thank you :)

It looks like good advice. And readable, not much wrong with your English writing.

Good man Duvar.

I have Windows 8. Is it worth me reinstalling with 8.1 you think? Or should i wait for the 8.1 to come through as an update via windows update?

Guys here in Germany are telling it really helped a lot, you can try step 1 first.
Of course it also matters, what kind of hardware you have, step 1 can try everybody with two clicks.
Btw I dont play BF4.
