The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

I've not watched WWE for about 22 years but hearing about The Undertaker just retiring (the last of the guys who I remember from back when I used to watch), as well as having a son who's getting to about the right age for it, has got me feeling nostalgic about it.

How does everyone watch? Is it just available on Sky, or does the WWE Network work for UK, and show the live stuff?

The Network shows all their catalogue (at least what's uploaded so far) and all the 'PPV's' live and on demand. RAW and Smackdown are uploaded 30 days after each episode airs due to TV deals in the US but you can catch it on Sky at stupid o'clock live. Also goes up on Hulu the following day with some cuts.

I just go to r/squaredcircle and wait for the gifs/recap :D

Vince will then hear fans chant "You Suck" at Kurt and think it's all in jest as well though :p

Remember when they reworked Angle's theme so that part of the music got removed. We all call it Kurt angles theme but it was The Patriot's before him. Same as "Real American" used to belong to a tag team before Hogan used it.

Anyhoo, the reworked "ecw" version.

I watched Smackdown. It was good, some awesome bits, some weird.

They have completely messed up the Wyatt Orton storyline. Had do much potential but it is now a mess with a boring Randy Orton title run on the cards...
The Miz is still killing it!
Nakamura's debut- great that he's on SD, but it was a bit weird. He just showed up and did nothing!... I liked that he just came out during The Miz's segment and carried on without really acknowledging him though.
The Dillinger. Again, great but I hope they give him something good to get in to.
Dean ambrose and Baron Corbin put on a really good street fight, much better than mania... I bet ambrose lost interest when they pushed it to the preshow and basically said **** it. This was a vastly superior match.
Naomi has really grown on me. She's very good.

Overall it was pretty good.... Still no tag teams though, they really need to put some effort in there. Would have lived The Revival on SD!

I've read some rumours for next week and Smackdown should be getting some more tag teams apparently!

Also Nak did have a dark match so wasn't completely pointless.

I still feel we haven't hit the end of the Wyatt story yet. I'm hoping that Harper broke away to make it seem like Wyatts were coming apart, Orton replaces him. Refuses to face him and then does the old switcheroo and goes after Bray who MUST have seen it coming unless he is literally a backwoods hillbilly. Now it looks like Rowan/Bray vs Harper/Orton and I'm hoping for it to come full circle at Backlash (~7 weeks?) and for Harper to turn on Orton and reveal the true plan all along.

Fingers crossed anyway...

I have to say I have never been a big Hardys fan. In the past I have seen them all sorts of messed up in and out of the ring BUT.... They have had a huge turn about and they seem to be doing well and both of them look healthy. Fair play to them.

The so-called 'Superstar Shakeup':o) was very,. very good for Smackdown imo.

They lost Ambrose, Bray, Miz, Crews and Alexa Bliss, but Gained Owens, Zayn, Rusev & Lana, New Day, Charlotte.

Only disappointment for me was The Miz, who I would have liked to stay on SD

pretty sure it happened on smack down as well one. Cool spot though so don't diss!

It was a "cool spot" when it first happened, its happened three times now with Lesnar, Henry and Strowman. It seemed more legitimate the first 2 times with the amount of weight involved, now with Big Show having lost so much weight it makes barely any sense. Just another example of wwe and their lack of creativity having to reach into "ye olde rehash bag". Big Show stated on Jericho's podcast a while back that he fought tooth and nail to have it be a one time thing when it was suggested to be used again for him vs Henry, now its no longer a special moment. So it shall be "dissed".
