The Black Friday 17 Thread! - pls make sure you understand competitor rules

Nothing, because I'm not a mug that gets taken in by this crap.

Pretty much.

Guaranteed you could have bought most items in previous sales cheaper than what’s being offered on Black Friday.

I remember seeing an awesome bed cover on amazon for £29 just before Black Friday, on Black Friday it was £33 and that was with 20% off, I laughed.

- Nintendo Switch
- Some windows...(small 3rd world debt level of expenditure, button push this week)
- 2 x bathroom rebuilds (some more 3rd world debt, button push this week)
- 2 x Samsung 500GB SSD's (bought an M.2 this weekend from the OCUK shop)
- New OLED TV for lounge, lounge goes to a bedroom (bought a 32" 1080p this weekend for my old retro kit linked to my new shiny Framemeister)
- Wedding ring number 3 (2 lost, don't ask)

That's it.

New case, 3TB HDD and maybe some cheap DDR4, if I can find some cheap RAM then I'll be compelled to make either a R5 1600 or 8700k rig, Ryzen if I can get a 1600 for £135 like last week :D

49" kind of small for 4K IMO and no doubt sitting too far away for even 1080p like most peeps.

Keeping my eye on deals for monitors mainly but none are ideal today and the soon to be released still same probably mean playing the panel lottery (I will not go IPS again)r but £1.5-2k

I thought that we stopped the American tradition 1 or 2 years back because of humanity going down the toilet in the supermarkets? Unless you guys mean going online when getting the TVs, Freeview boxes, NAS boxes, monitors, Dysons etc, then that's ok :-)

This. The good stuff will be limited and / or barely discounted. The remaining stuff will be surplus stock that they haven't been able to shift and loads of retailers are known to raise prices prior so the "massive sale" price is a crap saving, or no saving at all (as Halfrauds prove every year).

The lack of cynicism towards companies in this country is why we have £1k phones and telematics devices in our cars. Because idiots gobble this stuff up like good little sheeple, conforming perfectly to what MegaCorp wants.

Only thing I want that could even possibly come on black Friday is nikon p900 but I don' even know if it'l meet my standards.

I want nothing else applicable

So retailers are doing black friday deals already, and they are all crap.

I wonder if these are their actual deals or if there will be better deals on the day.

Wa slooking for some discounts on a 4K TV, and not one of the crap ones either.

Heh? The UK isn't the only market where the iPhone X is significantly more expensive than previous generations of iPhones so it can't be down to the 'cynicism of this country'. It's also common knowledge that there's significantly more cost to building the iPhone X due to the screen - only Samsung can produce the displays in high enough quantity and Samsung are well aware of that fact, hence why Samsung is set to make $14 billion from sales of the iPhone X screen alone. That's more profit than sales of their own Galaxy S8 series which is forecasted to deliver $10bln. Source.

Clearly Amazon do overinflate the real savings by quoting MRRPs, but it's easy to weigh up the true savings offered with tools likes of CamelCamelCamel.

New TV potentially, depending on the deals but I’m certainly not going to buy one unless it’s a good deal.

Black Friday has run its course anyway. Last year was terrible, 99% of the “deals” were terrible
