The Callisto Protocol

Assuming the standard game has a wide selection of death animations anyway, then the additional 13/12 for Jacob/enemies I don't care about tbh - If you only gte say 2 death animations in the standard version, then this would be annoying.

ofcourse they aren't.
Anyone really believe that?

What fans? the game isn't even out yet.

I remember when games used to add stuff in patches for free like cyberopunk did and when they didn;t have DRM or denuvo like cyberpunk didn't

CDPR were forced pretty much given the sheer state of the game at launch, and then for several months after release. If they didn't give some free stuff then things would not have gone well for them.

The next major DLC for Cyberpunk is not a free upgrade either, you will have to pay for it. Witcher's expansion wasn't free either back in the day IIRC.

THinking about it logically, I suspect that these fans they refer to are fans in general and the play testers. The article above states the whole marketing drive has been how the main character and enemies etc can die in many ways, so from that I understood there to be a whole host of different deaths and experiences to be had. The season pass extras are on top of that as a result of what people have requested or mentioned, which the devs have seen so decided to put extra time into them which they didn't plan on adding initially.

I see no problem with that, extra mocap sessions, use of sony's studio etc and actors need to be used again too which costs money.

The only thing I am not a fan of reading about is today where I found out that the game uses Denuvo. Just have to wait to see to what extent it affects performance (if at all).

Callisto has a 4 year support life, so I fully expect we will see updates that are free that add new stuff, but it all boils down to how the initial release is received.

Personally I am not bothered too as have not had any issues with it in past games but I know others have. One of the res evil games had it didn't it, Village? But then was removed months later, which was around the time I got it on a Kinguin sale

Denuvo usually introduces stuttering or a fps hit which is why many dislike it. The pirated version of RE8 for example ran better than the official version with no stuttering, when this came to light Capcom removed Denuvo. Digital foundry done a video on it.
Cant blame devs for using it though they want their game sales. its nice if its removed a few weeks after launch though.

Hmmm - expected to be able to find a cheaper pre-order key deal but all seem to be same price as Steam or above - i'm really looking forward to this but not £50 looking forward to it.

It is a bit steep, I got it via Steam, figured if in the rare instance it ends up being rubbish, 2hr refund window and then I can do what I did with other games, when the rubbishness is les rubbish, buy it off a key site for cheaper and activate on Steam.
