Any ph neutral snow foam (like the ValetPro stuff) should be okay on the autoglym stuff. With the SRP though it's going to be pointless and expensive putting it on and leaving you need to seal it with either a wax (like FK1000p, cheap and has a decent lifetime) or a sealant (better on light coloured cars, Sonax BSD or C2V3 are two quick ones, spray, spread and buff).

Regarding tar removers, tardis is thought of as the best just use with common sense :)

Gloss Protection will be enough to seal it, but yes, waste of time if not sealed. I use HD wax, leaves a lovely finish. Have just bought the G3 applicators which should make putting on SRP much easier.

Looking at the snow bottle that comes with the Nilfisk 110, doesn't seem to get good reviews. There is another red snow lance by Autobrite that seems to get good reviews, can't find anything better at the moment!

Where can I buy those drill bits with mops on the end, specifically for cleaning exhausts?

I got the cone shaped Brillo pad attachments off the bay. Picked up a similar polishing one too. They are a dark red colour if you are searching, will find the exact name later when I get home. Worked a treat :)

You can dab tardis on with an MF

I'm certain this group buy is still active -

I got bottle with magifoam from that.

Gave the car a thorough wash on Tuesday evening:
- Foamed with Actimousse XLS (not as ground-breaking as I was led to believe, but did the job).
- "Thorough" wash (just Bilberry on the wheels....cba)
- Clay (Bilt Hamber) followed by another very quick wash.
- AG SRP all over
- Finished off with AG EGP (Would have been Collonite, but by this time it was 9PM and getting dark so would have taken too long - maybe I'll give it another very quick wash later and apply the Collonite as well)
- GTechniq G1/G2 on side windows/rear windows/wing mirrors (not windscreen, I just use PIAA wipers).
- Parked in underground car park and took a bad photo.

Interested in that drill bit info too!

Out of stock here, but it's this type of product:

The GT86 looks lovely! If you're pushed for time I'd go for some like Car Pro Reload 2015 on top of SRP, it leaves superb gloss on white cars and lasts for months.

There is also Car Pro Hydo2 which is one of the easiest products to use - 1) Dilute 3:1 in sprayer 2) wet car 3) spray on car 4) rinse off = 3-6 months protection.

Thanks I shall have a hunt on Amazon/ebay for similar. Always good to have those things I think, plenty of uses around the home and of course, exhaust tips.

How are you using it?

Roughly 1.5 inches in the bottom of a 1 litre snowfoam bottle topped up with warm water (so that's roughly 1:10 dilution I guess, as recommended on the bottle). Sprayed it on the car and let it dwell for just under 10 minutes, then sprayed it off. I did notice that it clung quite nicely.

Don't get me wrong, it did the job, but I'd read that it was very, very strong (almost caustic) and I didn't think it was a huge improvement over the Magifoam I'd just run out of (although it was cheaper). Perhaps the car just wasn't as dirty to begin with, so it's harder to gauge the effectiveness.

What do you reckon, stronger mixture?

Mrk don't you have wheel woollies? Btw Prestige Car Shop has some Adams wheel drill things inbound. The auto rite lance is meant to be very good but I don't bother with snow foam so wouldn't know.

I do have wheel woolies, what has that got to do with drill bits and pressure washers though? :p

Forgot about this post :)

Anyway, here we go, off the bay:

SCOTCH TYPE SANDING POLISHING MOPS FOR WOOD OR METAL FITS MAINS OR BATTERY DRILL
I used tapered and 75mm. Used these with a combo of Autoglym Engine Degreaser and for the tougher carbon deposits some Autoglym Clean Wheels (which is basically acid, so be careful if you need to use this).

ALLOY WHEELS COTTON DRILL MOUNTED POLISHING MOPS OR WHEELS CHOICE SHAPE & SIZE
I used Goblet 50mm to 30mm. This time I used some Autoglym Metal Polish followed by some Autosol Metal Polish which gives a really nice finish and removes some of the final grime.

Many hours spent on the exhaust pipes. No one else will notice my hard work, but I appreciate it at least :D

On another related topic, for my upcoming birthday I have requested the Nilfisk C110 4-5 PC Xtra Compact High Pressure Washer with Patio Cleaner, Snow Foam Lance Nilfisk and Autoglym Pressure Wash (5 Litre) :) - curious to see how it performs...getting a little tired of washing by hand tbh.

Not the the little one that comes with the C110?

What's the go to de-tar/iron remover/cleaner these days? I've come to the end of my bottle of Trix and want to wax the GTI's wheels soon.

No, seemed to get bad reviews. Picking up the one by Autobrite which seems to get very good reviews. Will hopefully be upto the job :)

Cleaner for the wheels or paintwork?

Tardis Tar-X

Iron-X

Trix is okay but the two elements separate are better.

Are you buying a proper snow foam lance or getting the one with the machine? You really need to get yourself a proper one as the one that comes free (small plastic thing) isn't up to much!

The machine is great though, if you need a longer hose there are a couple of places on ebay that sell really decent ones!

Picking up the snow foam lance by Autobrite that seems to get much better reviews.

The machine sounds really good - I have always been put off buying a pressure washer given how many broke that my parents owned, but these seem to be of much better quality.

Do you know how long the hose is that comes with it? Can't seem to find the length anywhere.
