For cleaning steering wheels its going to be a balance between trying not to strip the top coating from the leather, and being able to effectively clean what is usually pretty grubby.

This is my go to:
Colourlock Mild and Strong Leather Cleaner
Colourlock Leather Spirit
Leather cleaning Brush
'Scrubber' pad (search for skrubber dubber).
Leather protector of some kind (not conditioner).

Start with the mildest cleaner and brush, and if it doesn't clean it - move to something more aggressive. Leather brushes (or just a shoe brush will do) are good at working in the cleaner without stripping the surface. The scrubber pads are brilliant, but can start to strip the leather if you're too aggressive with them, but they do work very well.
The leather cleaning spirit will help break down some of the oils that will typically build up on the surface of a steering wheel, but again can be harsh so use sparingly.

An old or very dirty steering wheel will take several goes to clean it, you can do it over a period of weeks if you want rather than spend all day on it. Also, if you're using a brush to work in a cleaner - cover up the dashboard and interior with some towels as it will splatter everywhere.

There are some other good leather cleaning products I've used, I typically find a leather specific company has the better products - Dr Leather, LTT Leathercare. I think Colourlock sell a specific steering wheel kit, with some instructional videos - check our their site.

What's the deal with cleaning PPF? My new M340i has it applied to the front bumper, wings, A pillars, bonnet, mirror caps and rear bumper. Never had PPF on a car before.

Are you supposed to apply a wax or ceramic spray type stuff to it after washing?

You can apply ceramic coating on PPF. I wouldn't wax it.

I know everyone highly rates Bilt Hamber - Touchless but seems a lot of product is required for 4% PIR.

I would imagine plenty of other Snowfoams out there achieve great results when used at such concentrate.

Speaking of leather, what do you guys to clean your steering wheel, and get it back to a nice matt finish?

Personally, I use LRC Leather Cleaner and their small horse hair brush. I think I posted about it here before, and it's great stuff. My girlfriend's steering wheel was very shiny, this stuff got it back to matte and it smells incredible (leather scent).

Guys I need to buy everything. Just starting out. How much do I need to spend? Is there somewhere I can just drop a couple of hundred and just get one big mother kit for interior and exterior?
I have a hose with a sprayer nozzle and a pressure washer. That's it.
I like the look of the way people wash with the foam stuff. I gather I need a foam cannon thing?
The fairy liquid days are over boys...hook me up.

And the smears in a few weeks :p

Love the car. I’ve been driving my wife’s mini, although not your version, it’s been fun.

I mostly buy Autoglym products other than snowfoam that I opt for Bilthamber Autofoam. You’ll need a snow foam gun for your brand of pressure washer.

I’ve forgotten how good a med-high end sealant/wax is. The dirt glides off so easily and the finish is stunning too. I’m still old school and prefer a wax, AG UHD wax is so so easy to use. Looking at the weather this week the car is going to get filthy.

Do you guys use tyre shine, I have been using it on my tyres for a while, but im starting to think it looks a little tacky.

Is there anything better to give the tyre a more natural new tyre look?

Autoglym high performance tyre gel on my car. Tyre dressing on the wife’s :p

Tyre gel is far more durable and looks great imo. One of the best things you can do in car detailing once your tyres have a few months on them.

I also prefer the natural look. I use this...

Actually im not sure what I have its by Chemical Guys and its like a gel you put on a sponge and wipe on, but it has a shine that I don't like.
