The Countdown Has Begun...... Fallout 3

Old Olney should have a load of Nuka Cola Quantum but the Deathclaws put me off searching too hard for it.

*POSSIBLE SPOILER*

THe nuka cola truck with the quantum bottles in is actually in the outskirts of the town, look out for the big red rocket and its near there. You don't actually have to fight any deathclaws if you're careful IIRC :)

It's a shame that the 3rd expansion will be the one that allows the player to continue past the main story line, it would have been nice for that to be in the first expansion.

Personaly though im waiting for an expansion or a decent mod developer to make a more in depth crafting system. Personaly what i would like to see is the ability to basic items like scrap metal, conductors etc.. and turn them into more complex items like metal plating, or eletronic modules.

These items can then be crafter together into armour/weapons, OR, enchanced further and then used ontop current armour to make it more advanced. For instance, turning scrap metal into armour plating and making a combat armour suit, then using more scrap metal and a sensor module to make metal plating +1 for lack of a better name, which can then be combined with the combat armour suit to make armour suit +1.

So much can be done with the crafting system imo, yet it seems like all mods ive seen so far compleatly ignore it.

Just finished it. I loved every minute of the 72 hours i put in, ok the ending was a little naff but the rest was amazing.

Can't wait for the expensions now they sound great as well :)

I've not played Fallout much lately, I played it solidly for a week and then I got a bit tired of it, I think I played it too much lol. I'm about halfway through the main story, I'll definitely get round to finishing it before the DLC arrives though.

Found galaxy news radio after a lot of adventuring in the mean time. Though this is great since everyone has a different non linear experience. Creme de la creme.

The problem with the scope rifle i have found is the lack of ammo and thier quantity in game, i rarely find them to repair the 1 i have, so i tend to get it repaired at a shop.

The scoped magnum is pretty good and ammo is more easily found. My one is at the same damage level as the rifle, (26) and it's quicker to fire and reload. I should just add I've got the gun nut perk x 2 and I think I've got another bonus to using single handed weapons in VATS.

Or become a giant, and arm up with Fawkes Sledge ;)

Can someone please tell me (and others) at what point in the main quest I need to stop?
I have just been to the Citadel and am on my way to Vault 87

Also can I visit the other vaults without messing up a main quest or a sidequest?

From the point you are on atm, Vault 87 is the only vault that will involve the main quest, so you can go ahead and explore other vaults. As for where to stop, well you can do the little lamplight/vault 87 bit and that will force you to continue the main quest up untill you escape from raven rock. once you leave raven rock though, DONT talk to anyone at the citadel or it might trigger the event for the final mission, when you are ready to finish the main quest then you want to return to the citadel.

I've just finished the main quest.

I agree with what has been said before about the ending.

Still got a load of other stuff to explore though, so it's back to a previous save for me. ;)

Don't goto vualt 112 or you'll miss a massive chunk of the story like me. You can do upto the last quest which is where you have to turn the purifier on after the big robot mission.
