The Countdown Has Begun...... Fallout 3

It does suck that you can miss a large portion of the main quest line, I did it and missed the whole section about going to the radio station and I've no idea how much after that I missed.

I missed out that whole chunk too! But now I'm just exploring and starting sub-quests. I wondered what happened to all that stuff about the radion station. It was in my quest list at the start of the game and then it disappeared!

I also missed that section, you miss it when you speak to Dr Li in Rivet City. Doing that automatically completes the quest and starts a new one.

I have since visited Three Dog and fixed his antenna, is there anything major I missed out on?

Nope; nothing. If you fix his antenna before speaking to Dr Li, then he tells you to check out the Jefferson memorial for project purity. Or maybe to talk to Dr Li, I can't remember.

iirc it lets you pick up galaxy news radio anywhere, where as before you do it it;s only in a small area of the map.

I just hit lv20 on my character and got the unlock all map locations perk (any one choose a different perk?) Im also no where near completing the game, just exploring loads of different areas to gain some special items :) got 7 bobbleheads so far and maxed my sneak, small guns, repair, lockpick skills

seems a lot of people seem to prefer big guns, i stick to using the special 10mm submachine gun you get from the girl at the museum if she dies, or hunting rifle as it can pretty much kill in 2 shots. :P

Went for the one which replenishes your VATS points. That one is insane when taking on 5+ mobs :)

Get the mod which allows you to go to level 30. So much fun getting extra skills and abilities :)

Ah, Finally.....

Managed to (sort of) get my hands on a limited edition version of this (vaultdweller figure), for £20 from a well known highstreet game store. Won't be able to play it for a few weeks, as the other half has bought it for me for Christmas, and has ferreted it away somewhere!

I thought the price was a complete steal! Anyone else found it cheaper?

have you listened to the distress message all the way through? If i remember right, you have to listen to it all the way through for before it shows up as a quest and allows you to enter, if you just listen to the main bits of the message then close it, it wont work.

some good news for the modders

"Bethesda Softworks Announces Creation Kit and First Downloadable Content for Fallout 3

Editor to be Available in December; Downloadable Content coming for January, February, and March

November 25, 2008 (ROCKVILLE, MD) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax Media company, today announced plans to make both its editor and downloadable content available for its award-winning game, Fallout® 3 in the coming weeks. The official editor for Fallout 3, called the G.E.C.K. (Garden of Eden Creation Kit), will be available for free download in December and will allow Games for Windows® users to create and add their own content to the game. In addition, the first official downloadable content, Operation: Anchorage, will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Games for Windows® in January, and more downloadable content coming in February and March.

“We’ve always seen the original world of Fallout 3 as a foundation for even more content. Some created by us, and a lot more created by users,” said Todd Howard, game director for Fallout 3. “It’s fun to create your own character, but it can be equally fun to create your own adventures. We can’t wait to see what the community does with the G.E.C.K.”

The release of the G.E.C.K. provides the community with tools that will allow players to expand the game any way they wish. Users can create, modify, and edit any data for use with Fallout 3, from building landscapes, towns, and locations to writing dialogue, creating characters, weapons, creatures, and more.

Three downloadable content packs will be coming to Xbox 360 and Games for Windows Live starting in January that will add new quests, items, and content to Fallout 3."

I played this game 60+ hours since it came out, exploring and doing as many sub quests as possible alongside the main quests but since I peaked at level 20 I pretty much stopped playing the game completely. I was totally addicted but then lost all appetite, and after getting the explorer perk and seeing where everything was on the map I lost my feel for adventure aswell.

I hope to get back on it this week to finish it off but I just wish the level cap had been higher. I wanted to end up with my stats all maxed, perhaps i could get close if I found every Book and Bobblehead but I doubt I'll bother.
