***** The Crysis 2 Thread *****

Im getting approx 20-30fps with a single gtx470 at stock and 2600k at 4.3ghz and 8gb ram.

Really could do with another gtx470 tbh for these kind of games lol

I've got the latest drivers off nvidia but I'm not expecting much more improvements

so next week there is a CAP coming out for ATI cards especially Crossfire configs specifically for Crysis 2's dx11 so those with ATI cards need not worry anymore.

Sweet! Hopefully I should have my PC rebuilt by then, lot's of case modding going on.

I have been playing it with everything set on ultra, tessellation, dx 11, 64 bit textures etc. Im averaging around 45 fps and in some hectic scenes around 30ish.

I have 6 gb ram and when system is idle i use about 1.5 gb and when in game it goes up to 4.5 gb with 1.5 still available. I think 6gb is more than enough for this. Very gpu and ram dependant updates since my cpu usage does not go more than 30%. Probabaly good idea to get a decent gpu. Must say the more i play the more i see the details. Why crytek left this out when the game was launched is beyond me.

im hoping newer Ati drivers will optimise performance better.

so this is an Issue that ATI will address? also i noticed that in the thread they say exclusive to 6xxx series but im getting it with the 5xxx.

I would think VRAM could be a limiter if you don't own a 2Gb card and also the weaker tesslator on the 5 series doesn't help either. You might want to try out the fix mentioned above.

Reading some of the posts in the earlier pages of this thread and on some other forums where people weren't really happy with the DX9 version and complaining that it doesn' look that good graphics wise; I think DX11 just changed that;).

Not only it is looking better but it is decimating all the high flier single cards (GTX 5xx, GTX4xx and AMD 5xxx,AMD 6xxx) !!

I think we may def need next gen cards to play dx11 version smoothly with good fps:cool:

At lest today cards can run it this time at 60+fps with max detail settings :)

I remember when crysis was released back in 2007 and my two 8800gtx cards in sli still could not run it smoothly at 1920x1200 with max detail settings..

Everything on extreme, motion blur disabled, runs like a slideshow for me. I would need another 480 for this patch from what I can tell.

my WEI on my pc weighs in at 7.9 accross all the fields.

Using a gtx 590 on my Dell u310 at a res of 2560 x 1600, maxed out does not run smooth lol.

Runs and is playable but doesnt feel fluid enough. 1 setting down and its fine. To be fair thats a monster of a resolution!

Are you guys discussing the speed probs on dx11 crysis2? I'm playing the normal release (if dx11 is out will update tonight) and my PC plays it on extreme 2560x1200 no problems at all on a 6970 2gb? Not seeing the issue, rest system is phenom x6 with 16gb ram.

Your not going be playing it anywhere near smoothly with a only 6970 after installing this lot :p
