No driver needed, calibration on non pro screens like the Dell use the graphics card LUT (you need to start spending 2x the cost of the Dell to get programmable in-screen LUT, and even then it handles the calibration indipendent of the computer by having the colorimeter plug straight in).
Cool
I didn't understand much of that, but I went to the dell website (dell.co.uk) and I looked for drivers and the only one available is for the lower model 3007WFP, I haven't seen anything for the 3008WFP.
If anyone has any links for 3008WFP let me know...I wouldn't mind reading their tech details to know what they have added and what reason they have released it if any.
Edit--- Quick Question--
A quick question, I can play my PS3 on this monitor right? I just need to plug the HDMI cable that came with the monitor in to my PS3 and attach the other end in the monitor...I guess it's just that simple right? Don't want to go and blow up my PS3 (or even monitor) by plugging in the wrong cable... somehow
So...basically there's no need for any other special cable or settings etc right?
Edit x 2 ----
I think better give some feedback of my experiences so far:
I noticed that whenever I switch between videos I run from the PC, the monitor seems to go through a refresh mode where the funny sign on the top left shows up letting you know whether you're using HDMI or a DVI or VGA etc.
This is more prevalent when for example you want to run a video from your PC and you click on the video, you will find on occasions when moving to full screen mode, the monitor will refresh and post back what method you are using to view the video.
I was running one of my anime videos and sometimes it does struggle at full resolution to pick up and go right in to it. I think the monitor is configuring something on the fly to accommodate the video I guess.... although... If I have a long playlist of videos, I find that whilst watching the videos continuously, the problem with the monitor refresh doesn't happen.
Anyway, excluding this monitor refresh type of thing, the overall experience with the monitor is fantastic.
