*** The Division Thread 2.0 ***

Wow nice big post, thanks!!

So classified, that's actual new pieces? Adding a 5th an 6th piece to your existing 4 piece won't turn the whole thing into classified? And I heard somewhere that all stats are max?

Only new story content (missions) could bring me back to the game and I'm really hoping the elusive 1.8 will bring that :) I never even did the latest incursion, I realise, ha ha - oh well.

So basically the 5 piece is an extension of the 3 piece, and the 6 piece has been designed around the benefits of the 4 piece - see below (from the gearsheet)

2,3,4 - unchanged
5,6 - classified bonuses.
All 5 piece were found but are subject to change outside of Striker,Sentry,Reclaimer,DE,FM and LS which have already been tested.

In regards to the stats, they aren't all maxxed. The main stat only gets a new buff for them called ClassifiedFlatBonus which means that the classified piece you get - is guaranteed to have a higher stat roll than the normal gear. 1274 - 1401.

This means if you didn't want to use 5/6 piece bonuses - finding a new classified mask for example would increase your normal 4 piece build.

Also - you can roll 2 stats if you want, 1 from major and 1 from minor, 1 main stat and 1 major etc etc.

The initial impression when people saw this was - oh **** so OP, need a new gear score blah blah blah but the effective increase in the main stat, assuming you get god rolls of 1401 everywhere - literally makes **** all difference in the grand scheme of things. It will just enable people to unlock talents slightly easier.

Like me - I run all my DPS builds hybrid these days with no stamina main rolls but I always need 1 stamina gear mod for responsive. But with classified, that slight increase allows me to get rid of the stamina gear mod for something else.

I run HE with skulls anyway for PVP, so the classifieds will be PVE fun for me, except FM - that's going to be fun

For anyone else who will be playing 1.7 or want to see what new things are found in the files moving forward, I maintain the gear sheet now and will updating things there:

I always pull the files every patch/update and see what changes they make.

Cheers Gamble and had a play yesterday for the first time in months and enjoyed it. Looking forward to putting some more time into this also, so hopefully Tuesday will be fun :)

So as is, with halve the sets not having a classified yet, PvE demands either Striker or Sentry in the classified department. Seems FM is still too situational and a niche set, on paper at least?

It also seems that my AB, FC, PM, TA and REC builds are sorta useless now as - well only kinda, the REC build was for the subway DZ events and keep everyone alive, easily solved by getting the 6 piece I think. TA was a seeker build, pretty pointless now, but it was also a high SP build.

Nah not at all, anything is possible for PVE and all builds from 1.6 will be fine in 1.7. Besides, they are only meant to be an added benefit and not mandatory, personally I don't see me running many of the 5/6 piece sets, but replacing gearset items with classifieds as I find them.
  • Striker is best with a shotgun to get the stacks up - pointless on legendary as you don't want to get that close. And if you cant sustain 16 stacks - then HE skulls is better. Also, the 6 piece striker only works well when you go even number stamina rolls - so 4k/6k etc but has the most healing benefit at 8k, but considering stamina is still **** scaling - its worthless. And for PVP - emp nade and your done.
  • Sentry - is cool but tbh everything dies within 6 headshots so it could be used for MDR sentry or pistol shield sentry which also isn't too optimal in legendaries or even heroics (the shield I mean). Would be a good solo PVE build though.
  • FM - will be really good for CS, FL and most importantly for me these days - PVP due to shortbow pros. We basically only do PVP stuff most of the time now so that is a must have.
Tac is best as a support healer build. Go 50% haste and have a super strong defrib and box / pulse which at the moment is better than reclaimer for PVP due to the constant movement. Reclaimer is still best for PVE content due to being static most of the time.

All the other builds - who knows until classifieds are out but until then, they can be used with various combinations of Ninjabike. 3 FC / 4TAC / Ninja for example or 4 AB / 3 Banshee / Ninja or if you don't want to get rid of vig chest - 3 banshee / 3 pm / vig / ninja etc etc.

AB - will be brought back in 1.7 as well as they are re introducing the passive sig resource gain and making determined work with signature skill cooldowns. I definitely plan on running AB for PVE and PVP.

The common misconception when classifieds were announced was just that - old builds are useless but tbh the main stat increase is basically nothing in comparison, and you lose a lot by going 6 piece. I think the main strength will be Ninjabike combos and ofc HE skulls still.

Losing vig for example, refreshed, specialised and so on - all epic HE talents you cant use so you are forced to use overdose but then you lose ADR and AWD. Its all a balance once its looked into properly.

The time you put into finding all this stuff out and making these long, informative and helpful posts is nothing short of admirable - thanks!

Good to know all this. Alpha always was a fun set imo and I used it for quick shredding in the current patch. Curious what they'll make of the full set. Same goes for pm - my 2nd shredder set.

I saw someone on YouTube, level^up, do striker week 3 with a shotgun and AR and it worked very well.

Ninja pack - I have a few saved actually, in case I'd come back to the game.

That you'll seek help, son... That you'll seek help... :D

The game is still tempting to me despite my quitting last what, March? Tough habit to kick eh.

hehe yeah. we have been doing a mix of Survival/LS/DZ and some legendaries. Last night 4 of us queued for PVP survival separately so that we could fight each other :D

Just keeping us going till 1.7 and making any improvements on the way, which is quite minimal now tbh

Pretty much yeah. PVP survival has a hard timer on it so it kicks you in regardless of player count. Think its 10 minutes.

Almost broke 30k in it with only a few other players not too long ago.

Pff darn that's nice ha ha!

Seasons last 1 month, patch lands in the middle of August (tomorrow); does that leave 2 weeks for season 1 or do they run from the 15th to the 15th?

Also, how do you get classified gear? Specific events during all known activities?

Seasons last 1 week. Tomorrow to next Tuesday.

I think I answered the classified stuff above. The chances of getting it are higher within the week of the season, and the GE tokens etc can be used to buy caches that contain classified loot. After that - it goes into the normal loot tables for the normal activities.

1500 GE tokens for a superior caches and the sources include survival caches, LS caches, incursions, missions etc. Incursions can give 750-1250 based on what modifiers you chose.

Roughly 1 minute 30 in - 4 masks previewed :)

Patch notes to follow at around 6pm

Oh yeah you did; sorry, so much info to process :D

I think 1 week once a month is way too little with only 3 sets per event at the game's age. (and the colour of gear should be different for easy recognition)

Its one week for the highest drop chance, the classifieds are available all month round but at a lower rate. Besides, im a data miner - I will know where that **** goes regardless for a targeted farm haha!!

He he he...! Excellent!

"SVD returned to M1A levels" - what does that mean?

DeadEye still worth it? Saw an awesome 1.6/1.7 one/two shot NPC video.

Ah damn I deleted the info I had but basically they increased the recoil/spread etc so it wasn't so spammy on Deadeye.

Deadeye is still worth it as its 60% chance ooc which is mega.

EDIT: Found it -

Thanks mate!! Ooc?

DeadEye PvE with a DSR and MMR seems fun and something I never did (have all the pieces). So with the 'new' SVD you basically have to be a better aim (the spread can't be helped). - - I wish they introduced the G28; a beautiful German DSR rifle. Loved it in wildlands!

Out of cover.

The SVD can be made to act like it does right now in 1.6 if you are willing to give up CHD on grip and replace with stability - but then you lose damage. I don't see deadeye changing much in 1.7, people will still spam it but now that stagger is gone for good, its a lot more manageable.

Deadeye is good for PVE for sure with a bolt action. Especially now with classified

Sounds like something I'd try if I give it another go, thanks. I can handle the new stats just fine so no need to sacrifice anything; I sniped all the time in wildlands and currently in sniper elite 4 so I'm good ha ha!

If I happen to be back I'd try classified DE, PM, REC, TAC, STRK, AB.
