The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I've got the collectors edition on order but will be getting a digital copy if Game fail me, even though they have sent me an email of their intention to get it here in time, I remain unconvinced, in fairness I've had the last games from there a day before release.

Game used to always get my pre orders shipped a day before, or on the day of release (they always post them 2 days before the release date).

HOWEVER, they have recently began instructing their couriers not to post pre orders until the day of release.

So some people, like me on my last two pre orders recieved their games a day later than the release day, because the delivery method Game use is 1-2 days delivery, not next day guaranteed.

When I emailed them about this, their replies were incredibly simple cookie cutter moronic CS replies based around 'We cant send the games early, its illegal' or something like that, even though they were actually still posted 2 days before the release date, with the courier instructed by game to withhold the deliveries.

Preordered with Gameplay, £29.99 but that includes first class delivery and they have never failed to get a pre-order out to me on the day before release.

I get free next day prime with Amazon, I only tried simplygames because they were cheaper, but no premium map with them.

First Class is 1-2 days delivery, not next day guaranteed.

Hope this isn't a massive let down like dragon age 2.

Just tell her you need skyrim to see how well your PC will cope with a new game :p or just buy it and say it was one of the games you bought already :)

I havent really played much of the The Elder Scrolls games but am quite tempted by Skyrim. I like mmo's mostly and was wondering if this game has any similarities.
What I dont like is the sometimes often than not set path and direction in rpg games.
Is it simply a single player rpg type game or does it have any co-op / multiplayer aspect to it?

One last daft question, PC or Xbox? and what other than the graphics will be the main differences?

there will always have to be a central narrative..but in oblivion there were really onyl 2 points at which you couldnt go back

you could go off and do you own thing, meet new people and slice them into small parts, meanwhile the rest of the main narrative stayed hidden away, until you actively sought it out

The Elder Scrolls games are some of the most open games of any game/series out there, even more than most MMOs.

Exactly the opposite.

I played Oblivion for nigh on 200 hours and didn't even start the main quest line.

Always PC, the modding community is the best reason for this choice.

Other than that, it's nothing like a MMO. After your first quest which is simply to get you to grips with the game, you are let loose on a HUGE world... You can go round killing everyone, you can go round picking flowers, you can go join guilds, mages guild, fighters guild, dark brotherhood guild...

Or, you can do the main story quests, even then you can just stop half way through and go about your way again...

TES have always been famous for letting you play the game the way you want.
