The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Wonder when the first reviews are available online, anyone see one yet?
I loved it in the opening gameplay of Oblivion Elder Scrolls, Patrick Stewart narrated the part of an Emporor as you battled your way out of a dungeon.
Can anyone confirm if Matthew Perry (Friends) plays a part - big Fallout 3 fan. sorry to be a name dropper!

Review embargo ends on the 10th iirc.

Notables from the voice casting.

If anyone has ordered from game, ring them up and ask when it will be delivered.

Someone on the Bethesda forums was told it wont be posted until monday 14th.

Game have just taken the money from my account on the pre-order.

A bit early to do that seeing as it's not out for a week. Might shoot them an email.

Anyone else concerned about the late embargo on reviews? I know i shouldn't worry because its an ES game but I've seen many hyped up games have embargoes like this and then have had pretty average reviews.

Not especially.

After seeing some of the gameplay streamed Im pretty sure I know what I will be getting.

Comparable to Oblivion, new nordic setting, similar combat with a few new elements, dungeons and leveling up isn't horrible anymore.

Edit - only thing that concerns me is length and save corruption.
Edit2 - and spiders.

I can rescue spiders captured in the bath overnight, and release them outside. It's another thing when they're bigger than your palm..no way

yeah they did.
annoying really... Theres not usually anything i want to order on amazon. this year i've bought a mousemat, book, clock and skyrim all with vouchers (£60 from surveys :P) and a headset was the only thing i didn't pay for.

Did they just get reimbursed automatically when you cancelled or did you have to speak to them?

The embargos are purely to prevent spoilers being leaked, and also to give reviewers ample time to play enough of the game for a solid review. If you ever used the TES forums, you would know how heavily anti spoiler the fanbase is.

Review samples of the game were only given out 2 weeks prior to the games launch, any review that would be written by now would be premature as the reviewer wouldnt have been able to play enough of the game yet.

This is a bethesda game thats been in production for over 4 years. Its not going to be a flop like DA2 was.

Save corruption was a pain in Oblivion. Saying that, if the way the game saves your files is anything like Oblivion the chances are you can recover to 5 minutes before fairly easily.

That would be a serious joke if Skyrim has save corruption. Minor bugs I can tolerate in a game like this, but losing my first character and game progress is just the worst thing that could happen.
