It will be interesting to see the difference in graphics between PC and Console. Beth say there shouldn't be too much difference because of the way the engine works, but I find that hard to believe...

I'd still expect a high-ish end PC to be able to blow Consoles out of the water Graphics wise wise with this

Yeah man, it's super hard to use two attack buttons.

I have tendonitis in my right wrist and this would be too painful, so I will need to use the gamepad.

Is a 4 disk edition, it has no DRM.

My Oblivion soundtrack digital copy only had 4 activations, I used them up in a few years on hard drive / mobo upgrades!

Everytime you change your mobo or HDD, you have to reactivate the digital soundtracks, and you only get 4 activations which was pure bullcrap.

But the Skyrim soundtrack is being posted on 4 CDs, autographed by Jeremy Soule.

Thanks for clearing that up, I was thinking they maybe had some kind of DRM on the disc or something (haven't bought a CD in a long time). Pre-ordering now.

A lot of games now e.g. The Witcher 2, have been designed around the controller, and they are much better for it tbh.

It'll be interesting to see how the levelling system works. Personally I wasn't a big fan of the whole 'Major' 'Minor' skills thing, which I think is being kept(?). Problem with it is is it almost forced you to specifically 'train' rather than being able to just run around having a laugh and levelling well... But we shall see

Don't worry, Bethesda have completely done away with the "major/minor" skill mechanic. I didn't like it either - made me too conscious of having to min/max my character.

In Skyrim, all skills contribute towards level progression equally and do not pre-determine how your character will advance stats wise. At level up it's up to you whether you want to increase magicka, health or stamina.

So, for instance if I was playing as a mage and just happened to progress a level by fiddling around with a bow for a laugh there is nothing to prevent me from choosing magicka as my "bonus" for that level. In Oblivion, the game would have "chosen" a dexterity increase for me.

some games like assassins creed for example i have to play with a gamepad but an elder scrolls game? mouse + kb is the way to go!

I'm going to try both and see what's more comfortable. I have a feeling gamepad will feel better unless you're an archer though.

The wired pad is, otherwise you'll need the wireless adapter.

As orderoftheflame has said, the wired version is. Many of us on here would highly recommend the 360 controller for the PC. One of the best purchases I ever made on the PC.

I've been playing Oblivion on the xbox for the last few days while I've been building a new PC, and I'm a bit surprised at how well the controller works with it. It's only when you play it on an xbox you realise just how much the interface was designed with a controller in mind.

Pfft. I bought the Witcher 2, months ago and haven't even started it.

I haven't decided Gamepad vs M+K. The margin of benefit that the mouse gives you is much less than an FPS, so I might just try both for a bit and see which is more comfortable.
