The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Cliff racers and the appalling combat!

Other than that, really got into that game over the last few weeks. Didn't get it first time round and recently decided to give it another go, until Skyrim is out!

Cliff racers were cool and interesting. The problem with them was that they were stupidly common and nearly impossible to hit early in the game. In small numbers they would have been a nice addition to the Skyrim, but in Morrowind, they were rage inducing pests. If someone makes a nice mod that introduces a handful of cliff racers so Skyrim, I will probably use it for nostalgia sake.

My Tesco order has also dispatched - the order was only placed on the 7th so everyone ordering recently I'd expect to be okay.

My original order with Tesco was from 31st August, but had to cancel it as the card details I used belong so an account I had since closed. Bit worried I'd lose my early "slot" but seems all is well!

Lol, I'm fairly sure when I go to hell that that noise will be my eternal soundtrack ;)

Cliff Racers - ARGH... Thank god for the Cliff Racer extermination and the non-agressive wildlife mods. I'M LEVEL 35, WHY IS THIS PATHETIC MOUSE ATTACKING ME?! :D

Many hours of playing Oblivion later, I bought Morrowind... and just didnt/coudnt get into it. I did try for a couple of hours, but it just didnt grab me like Oblivion did. :(

Same here, Oblivion first Morrowind after. I've modded Morrowind to within an inch of it's life and yes it looks amazing now, just as good as Oblivion when modded! (and even better in some ways as it doesn't suffer from pop-ups). But the awful combat and lack of speech stops me from getting drawn in too much. I played it for several hours but didn't feel 'addicted' like i did with Oblivion. If there was a patch for the combat then i'd give it a go,

They gave you fireballs stright away in Oblivion but was screamingly expensive in Morrowind so that was an impact as well towards combat. Hence i joined the mages guild to see if i can get some spells under my belt before going on the main quest. But stopped half way through and never went back to it

Say if I wanted to install sykrim to my SSD, my steam is installed to my HDD, is there anyway I can skyrim onto the SSD without uninstalling steam and reinstalling it onto my SSD? Cheers

You could just copy and paste the entire steam folder if you have space. I have had the same steam install for my last 3 hard drives it's been on, it seems to be pretty much self-contained :)

I know you're ill, but that's just going too far.... ;)

I miss the Silt Striders :(

Girlfriend ordered Skyrim for me, so I have no idea when this will be arriving...

I might have to give Morrowind another go with the texture pack; it was loads more immersive than Oblivion imho although I did enjoy most aspects of Oblivion besides how repetetive the gate closing became.

I still remember being so overencumbered on Morrowind whilst wondering through the wilderness that I rested and waited for random encounters with the critters until I was a high enough level that I could walk or run my load to the next nearest city, sell it and then upgrade my armour and weapons!

Ended up skipping all the Oblivion Gates after my first completion by not going to Kvatch on subsequent play throughs.

Still, back on the subject, I doubt Skyrim will leave anyone disappointed.

Kind regards,

David
