It is where the money is at chaps.

Hopefully it will be just such a good game we can overlook it but I highly doubt that.

It'll be just like Oblivion, mediocre console crap until the modders turn it into something half decent. So about 6-12 months after release it may be worth playing. Mods like Blood&Mud, The Lost Spires, OOO, Aesgaard, etc saved Oblivion for me....

Bioware...Bethesda...how the mighty have fallen.

It started with Oblivion, the dumbing down, the console derp, the way it was built for consoles and then ported, bah.

Hopefully mods will save this game.

Of course, it will sell well, and get great reviews from the consoles. Meh.

I like the look of the item menu's. Looks clean and quick. I found navigating the Oblivion menu's to be annoying due to them being slow.

" 9 cities in oblivion "
" 5 in skyrim "
" 19 actors in oblivion, 70+ in skyrim "
" We Guide the Player "
" 2-300hrs of gameplay "
" We Will do DLC, it's very popular "

Really? I enjoyed Oblivion, and finished it almost on vanilla, just with a graphics improvement and the menu rejig. I didn't change any game play though.

So although you've never played it, and despite the great looking gameplay, clearly reasonable graphics and generally positive reports.

Game over man, pack your bags, we can all forget this one...

Gameplay looks improved, yes. "Reasonable" graphics is a joke. I remember Oblivion pushing the boundaries of graphics even despite the way it was designed to work on consoles, yet reasonable is what we now settle for?
Positive reports mean nothing as most reviews are paid for by the companies themselves.

I was basing it off the statement that this is a game designed for consoles and for 'accessibility' which typically means severe dumbing down, and the game being limited in order to run smoothly on consoles on which we all know is outdated tech. It seems Bethesda are determined to go down the same route as Bioware, who have been slated for their desire to make games for consoles and for 'accessibility'.

So, have your  back.

What's this obsession people have with this phrase 'console derp' ?

People just trying to be on a high horse on the internet it seems.

The game looks great, don't be ridiculous, sounds like your mind is already made up, it will suck if you are thinking like that yeah.

Seems there are narrow minded 'PC Derpers' too by the looks of things.

Also so surprised people expected anything else but a port, did you not see all the menus? Reserve judgement!

Well good for you :)

I found it rather lacking. The silly level scaling, empty cities, c&p dungeons/oblivion realms, uninspiring main storyline and side quests (apart from Dark Brotherhood which was decent) etc. The only thing they bettered from previous games was the combat and that's not saying much...

It's a condensed way of saying "I don't like how they're making X game to cater for consoles over PC as that means reduced graphical capability, and a game that will be reduced in complexity, and possibly story/gameplay, in order to appease those who play consoles."

There's no high horse involved, when you start playing a game series on the PC, and then watch as the sequels gradually shift to consoles, you notice the changes and sacrifices, which unfortunately take it away from why you enjoyed it so much in the beginning.

The game looks alright. It looks like a modified version of the Oblivion engine which had it's flaws (i.e. all the foliage not appearing more than 10 meters in front of you, looking out over the landscape at flat textured land, stuttering, closed cities), and there hasn't been any word about the awful dungeons that were in Oblivion.

Narrow-mindedness has nothing to do with it. And PC Derp doesn't even work. What's that short for? "Those damn people who want better games."

That's my point. I would much prefer a PC port to consoles. It means us clearly superior PC gamers get the game we want, and then the modified ported SUPER AWESOME EXTREME version satisfies the console peasants. As opposed to the PC gamers being given a polished turd.

Yes, many of these companies made their name/reputation with PC games. There is nothing worse than supporting what was an innovative and creative franchise into success then see the devs pull the rug from under you and pee on you from a great height, all in the name of mega profits.....yeah, a bit melodramatic there, but many fellow PC gamers will know what I mean ;)

They don't make games anymore, it's just 'throwaway products'. Might as well be selling disposable nappies or something...

Whilst no one can deny that consoles are holding games back, and it does get frustrating when you are not getting the best out of your games, most of the moaning is just silly. My favourite game of the last 2 years was a console port (ACB)

Seems to me that some people are really desperate to look for things to moan about and just a generic consolederp remark means they don't have to put any thought in to it.
Some of my recent favourites which have stuck in my mind-

"That looks like a console type menu"- about The Witcher 2.

"Typical Console Storyline"- About Crysis 2

"soundtrack sounds like something you would get on consoles".

LOL:)

I have just seen all the E3 footage of Skyrim. Looks excellent imo, looking forwars to this game more than any other i think.

Its the idiot PC owning thinking they are better than anyone else crew, same old same old...

A small minority thankfully, they grow out of it.

This idiotic crowd fixed every **** up bethseda release so far and made it far far better. So yeh in this instance with beth, the pc crowd are better than everyone else console wise ;)
