Got this for Xmas, played it for a couple of days solid, followed the main quest mainly, got to the Aldiun dragon but because I didn't really do many side quests and level up, I was too weak for him 
(was at level 11).
What's the best way to level up? I focused too much on heavy armour and two handed, so I guess I should focus on the other attributes for now?
The game is amazing, love it.

You do know that most enemies are leveled in scale to you? It is possible to complete the game at level 1.

Plus it was practically the first mod out, day one iirc. I am pretty sure it was file of the month as well ahead of some brilliant mods too such as Vurts Flora Overhaul, 2k texture etc

If you intend to play both then yes. Oblivion will seem hopelessly dated after Skyrim so go for the WKD before you hit the Dom P.
Anyone else here like me who can't zoom in and rotate inventory objects? It seems to be a known bug for PC. The only solution documented is to press C. Well that lets me zoom the item but no amount of dragging and scrolling with the mouse wheel rotates the object. There seems to be quite a few that can't get this to work.
You can either join them or the Stormcloaks. The war which is going on in Skyrim is being fought between these two sides.
Not sure if there are any specific pros or cons to joining either, but I joined the Legion.
As for Soul gems, you fill them by using the spell Soul trap, or with an enchanted weapon which traps souls after a creature is killed.

Wow thanks for that! Didn't know that dropping a soul gem will empty it. I have a few grand gems which I've accidently wasted by filling with lesser souls etc. just dropping them and picking them up again with empty them of soul according to that article.
I'll be joining the Imperials also. The storm cloaks are like a very racist Nazi/Cerberus love child so I can't wait to kick their arses.

Stormcloaks are the racist 'nord supremacist' group who fight for their freedom and the right to worship Talos, etc, etc. Empire is a corrupt puppet government basically doing whatever the Thalmor tell them to as they want everything done their way because they are 'superior' to all other races.
Dropping soul gems emptying them sounds more like a glitch... it doesn't fill a soul gem too big for the soul unless you have no other so its kinda your own fault.

hehe I never said it wasn't my own fault
I tend to carry a lot of gems so I get carried away trapping souls, so I end up killing too many lesser creatures etc. If I kill a lesser creature, will it always fill a lesser gem if there's one free (filling a larger gem if there isn't), or will it just fill any gem that can hold it at random?
