The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I'm deffo going to join the Stormcloaks. I don't join a group that was about to cut my head off ;). I also hate the Thalmore and have murdered every one I have seen out on my travels. No way I would join a group that is sided with them.

Getting a slightly strange problem with shadows. Kinda hard to explain, but if I look at a shadow it kinda "shifts" slightly....almost like it's resolution drops for a second then goes back to normal. It's not a big deal, but I notice it once in a while and it's slightly annoying. Any ideas?

is it not the shadow position updating? There is an ini tweak to improve it (but not cure it) IIRC.

No, I don't think so. It's like all the shadows briefly drop to low quality (I'm using high) for half a second and then back again. From a distance it has the appearance of all the shadows moving 1mm and back again. Up close you can see them go all "wobbly" and then back to normal. As I say, it's not a major thing and I can live with it, but it does niggle sometimes.

Not using any mods...latest nVidia drivers.

not sure tbh mate. I've done so many tweaks here and there that I think I've actually broke things. Have you tried the beta ones from a few pages back? Supposed to aid Skyrim by 25% but I didn't notice any difference on mine tbh.

Thanks for the help - I'll defo give them a try.

Anyway, my version of Skyrim is much harder than most peoples. It comes with a wife and 4 month old baby :)

I got Skyrim for Christmas and am loving it so far. Only got as far as Gerdur's house in Riverwood and I was wondering if I can take anything from the house? Theres a bit of gold lying around in chests and some vegetables - does it have a negative impact if I take any of these?

Thanks.

I get this also..... with xfire ATI rather than Nvidia, using 11.12 drivers.

It can be distracting on times.

Only if you get caught. There's no karma as such like in Fallout, but if you get caught the owner will turn hostile and guards will put a bounty on you.

You don't need to thieve a few gold coins and veg - you'll start raking in the gold once you get adventuring, and as for veg........you'll be sick of the stuff after searching your 1 millionth barrel :D

You don't need to, but I find it strangly satisfying taking everything that isn't nailed down once the owner turns his back :p

HAHA - I love the notion that you can be slaying dragons and giants one minute, then stealing some cabbage from a poor shopkeeper the next :D

Better yet, when you use your powers as a Dragonborn with the Throw Voice shout to make the shopkeeper turn his back before you steal his stuff :p

I was torn between the two... The Stormcloaks were always hostile towards me and if I didn't move they would start a fight. Then if was to attack them back I'd get bounty!! :(

I also dislike the Thalmor and can't resist telling them I worship Talos.

But I figured I should join the Legion so I could kill the Stormcloaks without bounty while still being able to kill the Thalmor! :)

I've completed all the questlines I care most about by level 40 and am wondering whether I should carry on with this character or not. Do new quests, enemies and loot continue to become available as I make my way to the level cap?

Also, will changing my race this far in to the game cause problems?

Only happens outside. It has nothing to do with your video card. It's because the game shifts all the shadows for everything in one go.

Time of day advances, sun moves, shadows get moved then stop.
10s later (or whatever)

You can mess with the timing, but it's always ugly.
