The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I couldn't help but laugh when he's talking about small details and looking at plants, and right next to it theres a rock with a perfectly diagonal surface :p I don't believe for 1 second that an Xbox will be able to play that without suffering from fps drops.

Just looks like they've stepped up the animations and graphics a little from Oblivion, nothing unexpected there. I really hope we don't have to put up with that piece of **** console UI...

Granted, some of the animations do look very much like oblivion, but even if this was very similar to Oblivion, i would still be very much looking forward to it!

I always try to look at the positives before i actually play a game. Unlike some people who jump on every little bit of info that could even remotely be seen as in the slightest bit negative and use it to moan about it without playing it (that wasn't directed in any way at you btw Lejosh)

Take DA2 for example, in the official thread it was clear befrore the game had even been released that everyone had already made up their minds based on every report made up by anyone on the internet. I tried to defend it, saying that everyone should at least give it a chance and try to be positive about it. In the end, after i played it i joined in with the lambasting of it because it really is pretty bad, but i gave it a chance. I get the impression that the same thing is happening here as well.

In summary, Look on the brightside guys! :p

AI needs work.

If I down your mate standing next to you, please do not stand there like nothing has happened.

Weapons seem decent, bow and arrow is very well done this time round, perhaps weapon of choice for me. Dragons and spiders are done well too, finally some form of "oh crap" creature - I felt that sorely lacked in Oblivion. NPC's too are better apart from the AI issues i pointed out.

Animations are a bit to obliviony - in that they look kinda bad for a 2011 game. Stiff.

One thing they need to make sure they do is have a good main story line, I'm sorry, but Oblivions was appalingly bad in that it failed to grip me. On the other hand, the assassins storyline was far far better done, gripping missions and goings on.

Being anything but pessimistic when it comes to game releases these days is foolish. You could see DA2 was taking shape as an action rpg hack n slash from the start. The fact that they rushed it and did everything they could to remove all tactics from the game told you all you needed to know.

But anyway. The perks look like they could be interesting. Not exactly making up for the lack of stats but they should at least allow for some customisation. I'm dreading getting some ****ty console UI that went for flash over functionality though... the perk/skill tree tells me they went for flash. Animations and such look more fluid but what I really want to know is whether they've screwed with the customisation.

I cant wait im so excited. And so what if it looks a bit better than oblivion graphics wise surely that means most of us will be playing it at max settings...rubs 5970:D

I value better graphics over the ability to run something at max. I'll take 30 fps and better graphics over 60 fps and worse. Might just be me, but 30 is completely playable, 60 is nice, but by all means a bonus.
