something along those lines.

This seems odd.

Can you take a look at these please. I went to enchant a couple of items of jewellery and tested the difference in improvement with all three enchanting potions.

No Potions:

Gold Necklace with fortify two-handed gives 16% increased damage = item value 1734

Gold Ring with fortify one-handed gives 16% increased damage = item value 1434

.....................................

Enchanter's Potion 10% stronger enchantments

Gold Necklace with fortify two-handed gives 17% increased damage = item value 1681

Gold Ring with fortify one-handed gives 17% increased damage = = item value 1381
.....................................

Enchanter's Philter 20% stronger enchantments

Gold Necklace with fortify two-handed gives 18% increased damage = item value 1631

Gold Ring with fortify one-handed gives 18% increased damage = item value 1331

.....................................

Enchanter's Elixir 25% stronger enchantments

Gold Necklace with fortify two-handed gives 18% increased damage = item value 1607

Gold Ring with fortify one-handed gives 18% increased damage = = item value 1307

.....................................

So why is the item value decreasing as I use the Potion and then even more powerful Philter and Elixir,
and why is the Philter and the Elixir both giving me the same 18%, and, still changing the item values slightly? The Elixir seems to be no better in increased enchantment strength and is worse in item value.

I'm not entirely sure how the game works things out for Enchanting but with Smithing, it effectively fortifies the skill by x% of the current value (and not very accurately either going by my calculations). So to get 91, the req for Legendary w/ perk, with a 30% smithing boost, you'd need 70, not 61.

If Enchanting works the same way that could be why the improvements are so tiny as the effect of raising the skill always has much less effect than using perks to boost it.

As for the price. I'm sure I saw somewhere that the pricing is glitched.

It does seem glitched, yeah. Ah well, tbh, I'm pretty happy now as I've been spending more time at the arcane enchanting table and using some of those potions for the minimal increase they give. I've now got an enchanted set of daedric gauntlets, necklace and ring for fortified two handed, same again for fortified one handed, and same again for fortified archery. My daedric legendary bows of frost and fire for example are 111 damage but increase to 200 wearing those 3 items of apparel. My one handed daedric sword of fire is up to 136 wearing 3 items, and my two handed daedric warhammer of fire and greatsword of absorb health are up to about 215 wearing 3 items of fortified apparel. So I have to keep swapping over 3 apparel items depending on what I'm fighting with, but it's worth it, I feel quite deadly. :D

Changing subject, I found this which is quite amusing. :p

So is there a way of stopping the new texture pack from downloading and installing as I just want to use the 2k texture pack?

It's optional so just don't download it.

I find that there is a jarring difference between the modders texture packs when looking at the original textures though.

Has anyone noticed if the 2k pack and beth pack work together so the non 2k textures are not as jarring?

Is it better or worse than the Dragon Age 2 pack?

I'm sticking to the Skyrim HD Lite plus a few other texture mods (realistic embers, flora overhaul, armour and NPC mods etc) in all honesty. I think some of these modders are doing such a fantastic job, it'd be criminal to see their efforts go to waste (plus most of the time they do a better job than Bethesda anyway!).

Started a new character last night - I forgot about the wall being smashed through at the beginning and almost fell off my chair as it caught me off-guard. I got so used to just ploughing through places without a care with my first character!

Wait so now steam is autodownloading an optional update? I really hope that isn't the case especially if it decides that you can't play skyrim without the pack.
