The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Like I said previously, 360 purchase for my self, and for such an old tech, they have managed to make the game look stunning!

Wish I could play it on PC though :(

Awww, youre gonna miss out on all the graphics mods and uber high textures that will eventually get released on the PC :)

I going to be playing Skyrim on my new Ramdisk:

Pwnazor!!! :p

I need to figure out how to symlink my steam installation to the ramdisk though.

the only problem is when you turn off your pc :D
bam-the-ram-is-wiped ;)

Oh yea .... D'oh :(

I would have to Symlink it everytime apparantly as copy pasting Oblivion or Fallout 3 to a different directory doesnt work.

And I paid a tenner for that ramdisk license.

:( just an FYI oblivion worked for me in other directories, however running it off a ramdisk or ssd didnt have any noticeable improvements in load time. not sure how skyrim will perform though.

Some good new footage there, I'm careful not to watch too much as it can ruin your experience if you know what to expect to an extent, the biggest dissapointment to me is I found out how the dark brotherhood finds you this time round by reading a preview.

So you thought you'd ruin it for the rest of us too? :p

Could somegive me an idea how my gtx 260 will handle this?will I be able to play on high setting?I game at 1650x1080 also and I have a core 2 quad @2.50ghz and 4 gigs of ram.

Rubbish

I tested this myself last night. I haven't played Oblivion since i got my M4 SSD so i wanted to see how it would fair. It was fantastic. each loading screen was there 2-3 seconds max (most was 1-2 seconds) and no more suttering in the outside world anymore. It flys, butter smooth.

No mods, but everything at absolute maximum settings 1920x1200 8xAA etc

yeah, i would have though to too due to the amounts of files loading.

yeah it was.

Bethesda games on steam cant be ran from different directories without symlinking, and Skyrim being a steamworks game will require that to work on a different directory.

Anyone getting the guide? I would like to, but rarely use them and find that wiki pages are better these days anyway.

I was thinking about getting it as I like collecting gaming stuff, but I likely wont.
