The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Will household items and place settings respawn though or like oblivion, once you steal or move or annoyingly knock environment objects like the plates, cups and cutlery, they are forever gone or out of place?

Also what is the scope for consumables like arrows. Is there any way to replicate them or once used to they go? This made oblivion frustrating for a ranged hunter class for me unless I used the duplication bug.

Arrows are rarer now I believe, but you can make them iirc. Bows on the whole are stronger because of this, oblivion's main quest was obviously designed for mage or warrior type classes (or at least the parts I have played so far, I am actually trying to get through the thing at the moment but I'm an archer/thief) There are some good mods that beefs up bows for Oblivion and apparently Bethesda has taken inspiration from these for Skyrim.

I don't think so, try sneaking, taking your time, the towers in the Oblivion Gates were VERY easy to pull of sneak attacks due to the layout, so 9 times out of 10, I would get a 1 hit kill with my sneak multiplier. And obviously, sneaking pretty much every time I walked into a cave until I left, I very quickly increased my sneak level.

I prefer to use my bow over my glass dagger as it keeps me away from the hateful hitting a potatoe sack combat.

I'm interested to hear how many will be downloading this from Steam versus taking the gamble with a retail copy arriving on time. I have been burnt so many times lately with the latter. Think I might go straight for the Steam download. Missing out on the burlap ( or paper ) map doesn't really bother me.

I am going retail - was cheaper, comes with the map and shopto always get it to me a good few days before release. Fingers crossed :D

I'm just going to get it on Steam, the shops re a bit cheaper but not so much when you add in Tube fare. Have the day and the Monday off work, so not going to chance a delayed delivery or postman eating it.

... Oblivion had a sneak attack multiplier ???

Wait a minute ....

You could apply poison to arrows ??????

:p

The modifier was static and applied statically to all weapons, hence powergaming involved thieves with Greatswords. There was an OBSE plugin that fixed that so that Sneak and Weapon size determined the multiple - but without INI tweaks it was overpowered, oneshot kills on anything with Mehrunes Razor.

Ah ok. I just restarted the game with a custom Spellsword, I didnt mess up my leveling this time and dont like console hacking, even though its easy.

(In game cheats console, not console console).

My Custom Spellsword simply has the favored attributes swapped from Willpower / Endurance to Luck / Endurance. Getting Willpower and Intelligence up to 100 happens really fast because you have all the willpower magic lines as majors, and intelligence magic lines as minors, so you can level 10 of each really easily per level.

(I knew about the poison on arrows, but not about sneak damage as I'm always a Spellsword).
