The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Did they update this with some kind of texture patch ? I ran this on high when it first came out played it with no issues whatsoever. I stopped playing it in January and now when I start it up it just laggs like crazy.

You're either running extra mods, which you have elected to install, or you have an issue with your your video card drivers.

You could try deleting your skyrim ini files in your Documents folder and running the launcher to re-create them.

I have no mods at all and my drivers are up to date. I can play BF3 and Arma 2 on high with no problems.

I'll try deleting the INI files like you suggested. Thanks.

They released the official HD DLC pack, could be thats a bit too much for your system, especially if you've got a card with low vram.

It doesn't download automatically. It's official DLC not a patch.

If you somehow have managed to install the High Res Pack just boot the launcher, select Data Files and disable it.

I have Skyrim on my laptop and desktop both times it was downloaded and activated automatically. Laptop I had to turn it off in data files. So in my experience it downloads automatically :p

I have deleted everything and started again. I set 150 mods downloading this morning and they have all finished now, so time to set it up.

I am having problems downloading XCE and 2k- dungeons. Does the download link work for anyone else?

Does anybody know how to fix loading screen crashes?

I've got about 84 mods loaded from the workshop and they all regularly update themselves but I'm getting the game freezing when I open doors and tiwce today the game has just crashed to desktop.

I'm currently using an i3 2120, 8GB DDR3 and a 5770 GFX Card. Plays decent on my current 5770 but I'm upgrading to a 6870 soon. Will I see much of a difference? Could I go to higher settings? 1080p res

A 6870 is nearly twice as quick as a 5770 so you should see a nice jump in performance.

If you're buying the 6870 new, then I'd suggest saving a few more £££'s if you can and stretch your budget a 2gb card like the 7850 instead.

Skyrim's texture mods love extra vram.

Would be getting it from the MM so wouldn't be able to step up more. :)

Think with the 6870 I could get it to run on high settings with a smooth frame rate?

Cheers

Essential mod(for me)- Dual Wield Parrying.

5 different versions to choose from depending on which layout you want. I am using it with a 360 controller and it works great. I am finding the random attack one works best for me. It certainly makes dual-wielding a whole lot better.

Oh and I have only just started using Deadly Dragons and it is excellent. I was running around in a heavy storm earlier, could barely see 5ft in front of m when suddenly a lightening bolt hits me, I look up to see a Lightning Dragon(or something) circling me and it was an epic battle to kill it(especially as I could barely see it!)

hia chaps im after some mods which enhance skyrim.

i currently have mods like static mesh improvement, sky UI and better sorting. anyone know when sky UI will be released that supports skyrim 1.5?

ive also got 2k textures downloaded. is it best to have either one texture mod installed or can both be used efficiently?

also after a fix for shadows and weird blurring/stuttering in doors.

I am surprised at how well this runs on my 5770. I can be on medium-high settings and get between 40-60FPS. Feels very smooth and looks great, much better than the Xbox 360 version I was used to!

I'm getting a 5850 next week, hoping I can get the settings even higher and still keep a nice smooth frame rate.

Cheers
