The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

I just got the game on the steam sale, just to check the first post is still up to date and should still be followed? I don't want to start moding it to find out I've been using out of date/wrong stuff.

Some of the commands on the OP are not in my skyrim .ini files, i take it i can just add them?

Is there a mod to allow you to carry more stuff too i assume? :)

Ah yes, i've just re-read the first post, missed that completely the first time! :o

Is there a texture/graphics mod thats 'best' or recommended, i've never even thought about Skyrim until i got it in the sale so forgive the noob questions, i literally know nothing about the mods for it.! :)

I'm trying to download the mod manager before I download any mods, but the link in the first place takes me to the mod manager page but then goes to this when I click download:

Site error
The site has run in to a problem, please look at the error message below...

This file cannot be downloaded while the owner has set it to hidden.

Note: this is not an error on the site; the owner of the file does not want people to see or download the file at this time. Please respect that.

Edit: Nevermind, just some stupid error because I had to make an account first.

My ENB config... this started out a mix and match of other configs, namely TV_ENB but I think its evolved far enough to be my own, with my own palette and values.

If anyone would like to try it, download and unzip the contents to you main Skyrim dir. http://www.mediafire.com/?241d17lxilmcgbr

Due to some issues I've turned SSAO off.

Thanks. Do I need to edit anything in the skyrimprefs.ini to use this?
And how do I remove the black widescreen borders?

Anyone able to help with Jswords? I downloaded and installed it using nexus mod manager, and then the v13c to v13d update which once I activated it, it unticked the v13c thing. Now when I'm ingame, I can craft the jswords weapons, but they are missing the models. How do I get it so that it is using the models that come with the v13c part of the mod (which contains all the mod files) but also allows the patch to be active (annoyingly, this mod maker decided to make them 2 separate things, instead of just 1 mod).

If I try to activate the mod with all the model files, it says that the current mod is v13d, and the one I'm trying to activate in v13c and asks me if I want to upgrade, install normally or cancel. What do I need to do to get it to all work?

I had that problem with JSwords. It was very simple to sort out, though I can't quite remember the specifics. Enable the main mod, and then the update, but I can't remember if it is 'update' or 'install normally'...you will have to try both. Sorry I can't remember exactly which it is, but I can at least confirm that it is something simple to sort out:)

Actually I am sure you click on install mod normally, as updating it through NMM uninstalls the previous version...which in this case has the models, so you want to install normally so that you have both ticked.

You arent supposed to craft them now it seems, you must put the update AFTER the main item.

Which means that in NMM it would look like this.

Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Whatever.esm
Jswords13C.esm
Jswords13D.esm
Whatever.esm

Unless you already know this of course, then i am unsure without more info.

Most of the mods in the OP should work with the latest patch.

There are some that have been removed from Nexus, but I think not many from my initial list.

Here are the edits I've made since then, mind you, I have over 200 mods downloaded so it's not a complete list, just some of my suggested mods for starters.

Changes to the OP.

Even though I am not playing Skyrim atm, and have no plans to any time soon, I still like to check Hot Files on Skyrim Nexus every now and then to see what is being released:)

The game will be totally different by the next time I play it.

Now If only I could get Armed to the Teeth working...

I will certainly use that the next time I play it, though I had problems with a similar mod that did the same thing(can't recall the name).

I use the bandolier mod pretty much as armour tbh! ...Barbarian Armour with a load of pouches/bags/shoulder pad etc which ends up looking like proper armour.

I installed a gtx670 today and now I find Skyrim has bad texture pop up.
Tried the latest Nvidia drivers, inc the beta, different game settings. Deleted the .ini files. Even reinstalled the game but the same glitches every time. No mods etc installed.
Theres also some shimmering patches on the distant mountains.

I recorded a brief video highlighting the problem.

Tried other games and they seem ok.
Corsair 850w psu, 8gb ram and my previous GTX 580 ran it ok.
