The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Well I think the wrapper version is the simplest :). You just put a file (d3d9.dll) in the Skyrim folder, no need to run injector before you play the game.

In the enbseries.ini you have [EFFECT] section where you can turn off SSAO and DOF.

EnableAmbientOcclusion=false
EnableDepthOfField=false

FXAA is built into Skyrim and can be turned on/off by starting Skyrim Launcher. SMAA is a mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16233. Put all the files from that mod in the Skyrim folder except d3d9.dll (you already have d3d9.dll from ENB), along with the ENB files. Then edit enbseries.ini (at the top):

[PROXY]
EnableProxyLibrary=true
InitProxyFunctions=true
ProxyLibrary=d3d9_smaa.dll

Thanks for that.

Should i disable SSAO and DOF with SMAA? Or can i leave them on?

Thanks.

You can use SSAO and DOF with SMAA. Just disable all other AA, e.g in Nvida CP or in Catalyst Control Centre, and in the Skyrim Launcher.

Overly bright graphics can come from the Climates of Tamriel mod.

For me, at night around Whiterun, the yellow wheat grass is very bright and sticks out appaulingly, its no biggy though because CoT is bloody amazing all the other times, I have noticed slightly brighter white textures, but nothing that really stood out.

This is the problem with Skyrim, so many weird things happen, on a fresh reinstall I wasn't getting any grass, even with Lush Grass/iMinGrassSize=80 in the .ini, I was getting pathetic amounts of grass in some places and just downright nothing in others. I had to create my own grass mod with Creation to actually get grass, now I have extreme amounts (which is good) but Whiterun is like a carnival at night.

You'll probably never have a flawless experience outside of vanilla, as mods can do all sorts, and sometimes the core features of the game are broken, but it doesn't matter cause it's epic.

Agreed about CoT, looks great most the time, but sadly some of the time it doesn't. When I was going up to High Hrothgar all the blizzard/snowy mist looked grey like smoke.

In the Sky tab I just unticked "Enable sky effects" which turns off everything, except under Sun section "Enable sun rays" is still ticked. Which is good because I like them :).

Do you have any idea how to fix the neon grass? Its not just in Whiterun anymore, its everywhere, I was just running through a forest up to Riften at dusk and there was bright green grass everywhere. :(

Weird thing is, for example say it is 7PM and getting dark, the climate will darken and grey out, which is natural, but then the grass will go very bright. Then I'll use the wait feature to skip forward to say; 10PM, the climate will still be the same darkness etc but the grass is fine. I'm hoping they patch this out with v1.1c, I think it must be something to do with the mod changing the rate at which the climate and weather changes, going from 2 or 3 in a day to 8 or 9.

It is a great mod but lucky people like to keep with lore of the game created a couple of replaces.

Their are creatures in the TES lore that could be dinosaurs, nothing you actually see but 'large, lizard-like creatures similar to Dragons' do exist. I think it was an Argonian in Daggerfall or Arena who mentioned it, its been too long, though.

Not to mention the existence of Argonians, Clannfear, Daedroth, Guars, Alits, Netch, Cliff Racers, Giant Rats, Giant Spiders, Dreughs, Kagouti, the Kwama race, Sloads, Winged Twilights, Mudcrabs, Nix-Hounds, Slaughterfish, Scribs, Shalks, and tons more in lore...

Dinosaurs are lore friendly, especially in a climate like Skyrim. :)

Granted they should be modded in with different names to their real world counterparts, but any Dinosaur fits TES lore perfectly, any fantasy, mythical or historical creature does, that's the beauty of TES.

What is the verdict of Climates on Tamriel then? His are by far the best weather/lighting mods for FO3 and NV, but they have suffered with a few performance issues.

It's a great mod, needs a bit tweaking to find the right balance, but it works perfectly well with Project ENB (that includes More Dynamic Shadows etc.).

Climates of Tamriel needs some work on the compatibility front though, namely Sounds of Skyrim, perhaps Claralux (can anyone confirm this works with CoT and MDS?).

Some addition from me, I haven't seen mention in this thread. Immersive Patrols.

Ok COT is excellent! and I have started using Project ENB with it(extreme performance). The only thing I find is the sunglare is a little OTT for me. Performance has been great as well. At first I wasn't sure about the lighting in it compared to Realistic Lighting, but the ENB helps a lot.

With regards to Clarallux, it seems to be working ok for me, but I get a bit of flickering from light sources now during the day. I have only noticed it during rainy/overcast weather, but it was quite distracting.

Yes you can use an ENB on top with no problems. ENB does nothing to textures. I couldn't say which is the best, as they are all tweaked for personal preference, just try a few out. I use Project ENB, as it works perfectly with Climates of Tamriel and it is great.

edit- Nexus is mad since Dawnguard was released.

I have been playing for a few days now and I have struck a very good balance for me(with no CTDs!). SkyRe has totally transformed the game for me.

For graphics I have COT+Project ENB, with the Texture combiner plus a few others.

For Gameplay, SkyRe of course, with Momod(lore-friendly). I am also using Frostfall and dual-wield parry. Also I have Bandoliers/cloaks/WIC/Immersive Armours/Jswords for content. I am using a load of city/town mods as well such as 7k Whiterun, Expanded Towns and Villages, Better Riften etc.

SkyRe really is the best though, the reworking of the perks and leveling is a masterstroke imo. You level much faster and get 2 perks per level, but there are FAR more perks available, and they are much more useful. Also the changes to the economy and vendors/drops works really well imo. You sell gear for MUCH less, and it is much more expensive. At level 1 there was Daedric armour for sale in Whiterun, but for 24000g so it would take ages to afford it. You might think it would unbalance the game, but it doesn't at all for me. I would highly recommend it.
