The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Well it seems to have done the trick! .....I had about 5 different characters with saves that crashed at specific points, and none of them do now. Can finally play the game!

^Obviously Bethesda dlc is legendary for causing problems, but what I meant was that there are many people who play it without problems, so it can't be a lost cause.

I had to deactivate More Forests as I think it conflicted with a few I am using that add/modify settlements. Shame as it was really good, I liked the forest just outside Whiterun.

And that one you linked earlier is good Krugga, Elder Scrolls Places. Obviously lots of care gone in to them and they slot right in

Got Skyrim last week. Had Oblivion and never got into it. My nephew came round and had it on PS3 so was playing it. Thought I would give it a go on the PC and wow, just wow, what a great game.

In the next few weeks I will be getting all the mods for it to make it extra special when I play it through properly.

Talk about missing out /o\

Tried a clean install but deleted a bit too much, so I'm now DLing 10gig lol

Started noticing some graphical flickering that i don't remember being there before the mods so lets see...hope its not my GPU >.<

yes downloaded it earlier

Got it eventually. For some reason it wouldn't find the file using NMM, and trying to download manually was just bringing up a blank webpage.

Can't wait to get to somewhere open and just watch the storms :D

What settings did you set it to? I've left mine mostly as default, but increased the minimum strike distance as I don't them landing 2ft in front of me :D

It is at the moment, not by much though. I reset it back to default and it still does it :(

Whats your guys suggestions?

EDIT:

i did an occt GPU test for 30 mins and it came back with no errors, if that means anything to you guys

Could be the drivers then. Try a clean install?

Also, verify Skyrim files on Steam and delete SkyrimPrefs.ini, Skyrim.ini and RenderInfo.ini from My Games/Skyrim. Launch Skyrim through Steam (even if you have SKSE installed).

Ill give tge last part a try. Failing that ill completley wipe it tomorrow >.<

EDIT:

Nope that didnt work...guess im going to have to try completely wiping it >.>

did a memtest overnight....10 passes, 0 errors....how can i check if the artifacts are caused by a faulty GPU? is that what the OCCT does?

im going to try reinstalling my GPU drivers and see how we go >.<

this doesnt affect me in any of my other games, its very strange

EDIT:

Did a sweep of my drivers, completley got rid of everything (or so i thought).....used radeons autodetect and it said i was up to date....DLd the latest drivers (not beta) and it seems to have stopped the flickering....wil have a proper blast later to make sure....Thanks Mr Krugga :)

I have been playing around with some settlement mods(new and overahuls) and there are some very good ones out there.

I would recommend the following if you think the smaller Towns and Villages are a bit lacking in Skyrim-

Expanded Towns and Cities (Morthal and Rorikstead especially are very well done)
Falkreath Expansion- Very good indeed.
Dawnstar Expanded
Light's Reach
Solitude Docks District (incredible)
Elvenwood
Pinewood Village
Cities and Towns Enhanced- Markarth Plus (adds more Dwemer ruins around Markarth, looks really good)
Heartwood Village
The Elder Scrolls Places- Laintar Dale and Oakwood.
Fleetford (with a nice player home)
CL Cities - Whiterun (a very nice overhaul of Whiterun adding a bigger market and things)

I tried Winterhold fully restored but didn't really like it tbh.

Hey guys.

Is there anywhere else to get the mods? Attempting to download the combined texture pack through the manager is painful.

Cheers
