The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

I've just started the legendary edition from steam and am a big grey cat as the dark in oblivion really was dark so night vision was useful. However no caves are actually dark, is there a mod for it or should I have been a lizzard?
 
That nexus skyrim site is going so slow for me and I really can't be bothered waiting. Are there any decent mods you can get through steam?

You could just check the minimum requirements on Wikipedia.


Have been playing Falskaar quite a lot over the last couple of days, have to say it is very good. The only criticism I have of it is that there is a little to much "Look how good I am at making mods, listen to all these lines of fully voiced dialogue I added to every single NPC regardless of their importance, look at all the mechanics used in the 1 million quests you just picked up in the first village".

In short, little over the top in places, could have done with someone sitting over the guy making it saying "Is that REALLY necessary?", it's certainly not bad it just makes the mod feel a little bloated.

After some Googling I came across a YT vid where this dude was telling PS3 owners how to stop their console from freezing. I was about to close it and move on but I hung about and watched. What he did was go to Game Options, scrolled down and disabled all those "save on" options:

Save on Rest,
Save on Wait,
Save on Travel,
Save on Character Menu

He killed all those options. So I did the same (even tho this was directed at PS3 owners). And guess what - no more freezing :D

No I didnt touch the .ini. I just used the ingame menu :)

I loved Fallout 3.
Skyrim was awful... wonderful world but terrible -- follow a compass.
very very bad. and I know what Oblivion was like.
Skyrim was a joke.

they do need to up the game big time for Fallout 4. not good enough to build a big world - with exactly the same dungeons, or indeed shelters. but Fallout 3 was very good - it had music and character.

With mods like the unofficial patches, mods are pretty rare now, oh they happen but they are very rarely game breaking or even that much of an inconvenience.

Be careful with Frostfall and Wet and Cold, they can be incredibly awkward mods to play with unless you know the game already. If you really like the "Eat regularly and freeze to death by falling in a river" stuff I imagine they are quite fun, frankly it just got on my nerves. It doesn't help that none of the content is built in to Skyrim, making some of the aspects a bit clunky.

Soooo i seem to have a problem.

Ive restarted the game and am at the first dragon battle (where you get your first shout).
I kill the dragon then i have to 'investigate dragon' but when i go over i dont get the cutscene. I can loot the dragon but cannot do anything else. Also the guards and iriel (i think) are just cowering and i cannot interact with them. Has this happened to anyone else?

If you are using mods (and I suspect you are) then I had this after restarting the game not long back, appears it is related to the unofficial patches. disable them and it works fine. ;)
