The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

I ran the 2k textures last night and the framerate seemed fine(running an Oc'd GTX760). TBH though I couldn't really tell that much difference, if any, so I was wondering if maybe the 2k textures were being overwritten with the high res ones, hence my question of do you need both.

Am I right in thinking that the biggest graphical improvements, in terms of mods, will come from the ENB presets?

Essentially all I want to achieve with these mods is to improve the graphics a bit without too much of a performance hit.

I think so, ENB cuts my frame rate in half to about 30 fps, but it is night and day without them, massive difference in IQ. I can live with 30fps, this monitor @ 120hz is much smoother than my old one was.

+1 for ENB.

That's why I'm not too fussed about modding my game with every single texture out there. I'm happy with the Bethesda high res ones, and I would much rather be able to run ENB smoothly instead.

Try Realvision ENB, it's doing the rounds on the nexus at the moment. The DOF is perfect, and doesn't send you bog eyed.

Does your game work properly running 120hz?
I have a 120hz monitor too and mine has been fine in game. I have heard of people having issues though.

Yeah I'm starting to think the same way. The textures add a little sharpness but it's amazing the difference some of the ENB tweaks seem to make.

I don't like using ENB's I've decided after several attempts using them. I prefer the higher fps and the original look of the game.

Each to their own, some ENB's definitely over saturate colours. I know what you mean about the original look, i'll assume that's original look but modded, as the vanilla look is bloody awful.

+1 for Realvision, the best ENB I have used.

I prefer RCRN over ENB. much less performance loss, and still looks great.

There are ENBs out there that barely affect performance too. Project ENB for a start.

They say that, but FPS always drops by half when I use one.

I might give RCRN a go at some point *probably a ground up remod of my game) but it doesn't work with COT.

Bought this on Steam sales, been playing for a few days. Came back today and my arrows won't fire further than 5 feet. I'm holding down the mouse button for ages getting full power but nothing. It worked yesterday.

I don't have any mods.

Game has a mind of it's own, I want to play it but can't with all the bugs I'm facing, NPC's/Animals walking along and bobbing up and down, stuff flying everywhere, sound bugs, water flashing, just completely ruins the immersion :(

This looks nice, might have to give it a try! I also would like to try Realvision ENB.

So far I have mostly been using Project ENB + realistic preset + no DOF - which I'm pretty happy with but things sometimes get a bit creaky as I also have the full TPC (thanks demon8991 btw!) & a bunch of other mods.

No, it does the same job as COT, plus adding extra post-procesing effects. So it is basically an alternative to COT+ENB. It is never going to be as sophisticated as ENB, but it is definitely a worthy alternative.
