The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Well, I been following some of this guide and got to the point where you apply the ENB. It recommends this one so I just tried it out. Absolutely hate it. The game looks like a Disney film and is also way too bright.

I can see me spending way too much time farting around with this stuff and not enough time playing. I've decided to do a clean install and just use a couple of subtle improvements. End of.

It's certainly an ENB that looks better in bad weather or low light. A casual glance at a few screenies are enough to see that.

I'm trying to get into this modding shenanigans but it's all a bit confusing. I downloaded the high res texture packs from Steam, but many guides recommend installing the 2K texture packs. My question is do these replace the high res packs or do you need both?

- The 2K are better, but use a lot of vram. I found with all of them installed I was exceeding 2GB

- Are you using Nexus mod manager?

Yeah I'm using the mod manager.

So do I need both high res and 2k textures or just the 2k textures? Still confused

I have a combined file of 60 mods hosted that you can use would be the easiest way to get it running amazing. Feel free to check my screenshots too.

Start off with this.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9080

I have then made a combined file with 60 texture mods all in one package which i have hosted below.

The file is split into 7 rar files and will need to be extracted and then put back into a single rar file and then added to nexus mod manager.

Feel free to check out my screen shots too.

Here is a list of all the mods in my combined file.

Thanks for that list of textures demon8991. I'll check those out tonight.

I ended up just downloading a few mods off Steam Workshop to improve the look of the game world a bit. It's pretty close to how I want it now and is looking great and more importantly my framerate has hardly changed. I'm using Immersive Saturation boost to give the game a bit more colour/contrast. Then I'm using RCRN which has a similar effect to the ENBs but more subtle and not as Disney. This isn't the full list but most of the main ones.

Hmmm...sucks to find out that you cant change rooms on your house in hearthfire...AFTER you have built a full house :p

Never mind, have 2 more to get it how i want it haha

Anyone got comparison shots between official HD and 2k textures? Not the lite version.

Thanks

I did some tests last night between the two and couldn't tell any difference at all. Which is why I decided to turn the 2K textures off. No point in having such a huge resource hog if there's little to no difference. Using decent mods to the lighting and contrast make a much bigger difference.

I've posted this on the official forums and can't for the life of me seem to find anything that does the following:

- Separate spell equipping from weapon equipping, so that:
=> cast from left hand while using any TWO-handed weapon or holding a bow
=> block using any ONE-handed weapon in the RH and spell in the LH, as if you were using unarmed/weapon.

Anyone use anything that does that?

Right guys i'm going to update the OP

I need the best mods to install with perhaps an easy guide for a new user! So for example if I was to install Skyrim today with all the DLC's what would be the best mods.

And go.......
