The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Also is it safe to combine the 2k HD textures when your already using the official HD pack?

Don't bother with the official HD pack, gobbles lots of HDD space and I couldn't tell the difference from the original, honestly. If acquired via Steam you can't uninstall it, only disable it in teh load order. You'll have to contact Steam Support to have it permanently removed from your account.

Get the 2k HD textures pack instead, and the Lite version at that, I can't tell it apart from the other and it uses less Vram.

Other than that, I would recommend the amidian book of armours, weapons and misc for much more detailed textures than vanilla, the XCE facial pack; keeps vanilla faces but removes compression artifacts, Improved NPC clothing; looks the same but higher resolution, Quality Road Maps for sharper maps and roads and the unofficial patches for Skyrim/Dawnguard/Dragonborn/Hearthfire packs (some mods may not like skyrim patch so read first). Oh and I'd probably throw in SkyUI if like me you find the official inventory system extremely lacking (requires SKSE).

Those are the only essential for me, anything after that is personal preferences, for instance some people swear by the ENB lighting mods but I don't get on with them at all.

Well i finished modding this like a mad man and this is the end result... This isn't on max settings and aa and af are off as im not running the fastest of cards but this is what it looks like. Feels like a different game lol.

How do you add SMAA to the project enb mods...im using the realistic one but your not supposed to use in game AA as it messes with the ENB but SMAA is supposed to be fine.

If I remember right you put the smaa.dll and config files in the Skyrim folder, then in enbseries.ini you set:

EnableProxyLibrary=true
InitProxyFunctions=true
ProxyLibrary=smaa.dll

Cant see any SMAA files in the folder...are you sure there included?

Okay i managed to do everything you need to do...Honestly cant tell if its worked though...the fps are the same as they were with just the end doing its normal thing. I would have thought they would go right down with SMAA added?

Usually a hotkey to toggle it on/off. Should tell you in one of the .ini files.

Just added another mod which is really good...Its called grass is grass and basically increases the grass density more than you could ever do in the ini file. Its a huge system hog though so make sure you have a decent system as it tanked my fps but have a new card comming on monday so should be good then. It does make the forest areas look gorgeous especially now.

Anyone with some ENB knowledge here?

Installed my new 7990 card today. Was using a 5870 before and when i booted up skyrim the whole image is blurry in game.. Its like a depth of field efffect over the whole screen.

Removed the ENB and deleated the skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini files and reinstalled the ENB and its still there..

Here is a screeny showing the issue.

Try opening enbeffectprepass.fx and find "#define USE_SMOOTH_DOF" add // before it to comment it out.

Delete the RendererInfo.txt also.

Maybe it is a Crossfire bug? Try disabling one of the 7990's cores and test.

You have the latest Crossfire Application Profiles?

I have the latest driver.. I thought the crossfire app profiles are included in the drivers now so you dont have to download them seperate. Im just reinstalling Skyrim at the moment then going to reinstall the ENB and see if its fixed. if not ill try what you said

That worked..i guess that gets rid of the depth of field effect?
Now the screen is flickering though lol.

Here's a couple of screenies from one of my favourite mods -"dat grass".

While that worked the mod has lost quite a lot of its charm now. Everything is super pin sharp and you lose the nice depth effect and smoothness.
