The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

It's all the shizzle that gets put in the main Steamapps/common/Skyrim that troubles me. Each ENB uses different settings in enblocal, enbseries etc. as well as different versions of ENB itself. AFAIK the only way to switch between ENBs is to manually replace those files, its not something that can be done by MO or NMM etc.

I had assumed they all made use of the latest or at least the same as Realvision, V262? Something like that.

Will have a play around tonight as my grass testing is done so need to upload that into the guide and then the ENB's.

Does anyone know where I can get the default skyrim and skyrimprefs ini files?

I've read that if you delete them from the My Games directory then Skyrim should automatically create new ones. But nope.

They should do after you start the game..

That is what I expected. But nope :(

I don't get it, the game works fine, it must be getting the settings from somewhere! :confused:

Yes they are somewhere else, as you're using MO it's getting them from:

/ModOrganiser/profiles/default

It uses them instead of the /My Documents/My Games/Skyrim folder ones. :)

Launch the game from Steam and you'll see them populate, however when using MO edit the MO ones, not the My Documents ones.

Anyone using an ENB who wants more FPS can try this:

With Detailed Shadows on you can lower your shadow settings in SkyrimPrefs.ini and not really notice any loss of quality (well I don't at least). Here are mine:

fShadowDistance=3000.0000
iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=1024
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=1024
iShadowMapResolution=2048

Anyone know how to force MO to install stuff into your main steamapps/common/skyrim folder (NOT data)? I know it goes against MO principles but i want to be able to quickly add/remove ENB files via MO rather than having to copy/paste manually.

Cheers Reaper. I've re-installed and all is good again.

Have you finished your modding guide yet?

The guide yes, the added extras like comparing ENB's and Grass mods is half done, will also be trying alternative mods to see the performance difference etc. So yes, the guide is followable to get the same mod list as myself.

I'll be uploading my mod order list as well, probably a spreadsheet.

Not possible, although the files should just overwrite each other as they'll be the same name just different sizes/config.

Or add the ENB files in and sort the folder by date modified/created and it will bring all the ENB files to the top.

Or could write a script that reads a text file and removes the matching values in the folder. Extract the zip to a folder and open CMD, CD to the folder and output the dir to a file. Format that into just file name and then a simple read delete script pointing at the file and Skyrim folder?

Yeah thats what I've been doing. I'm just lazy and wanted to find a way to use MO to do it all for me :)

OK, I've gone throught the modding guide by reaperguy and I'm getting some horrible trees. They look 2d, very low res and grey.
Has anyone got any ideas what might be causing the problem?

What have you added so far?
What mod manager are you using?
Did you start from fresh?
