The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

I've used your guide all the way to the point where I am ready to install ENB. I have been testing, and in a busy spot in Markarth I've dropped to 39 FPS. See screen shot (it's a 6MB file so might take a minute to load).

I'm using a GTX670 SLI setup, and my cards are hitting 1782MB of memory usage at that point, and maxing out the 2GB at others.

I've installed all mods to this point, so what would you recommend I do to improve performance before proceeding with ENB?

most of the mods.
Mod Organiser.
Fresh install.

Screenshot of your MO will be helpful, might be a texture conflict in there.
Could be anything, or start removing some that have textures one by one till you find the culprit.

Screenshot of the trees you're having issue with as well so we can see what's happening.

Have you got TAVE - Markarth installed? - Try removing that and checking the performance as that will be loading a lot more items into the city. Also, expect your GPU VRAM to be 90%+ with all the mods installed as there are a lot of textures being rendered and loaded.

Nvidia Inspector is a great tool to make sure you have the right settings for Skyrim, download and check the Skyrim preset then apply them. (make's sense when you see the tool).

Pretty sure that's not on your guide before I get to ENB (last step of #8).

I'll check out nvidia inspector.

Cheers.

** Update **

Nvidia Inspector... Wow! What a difference. FPS only dipping to 55 at that point now, and sitting at 60 most other places.

How does NI work? Do I have to go to each game, apply the settings and then I can close NI and those settings will always be there? Are my Skyrim presets only applied to Skyrim?

Cheers BTW.

Yeah it's the one thing I forgot to add to the guide (Will be doing so shortly).
It has an SLI setting which forces the GPU's to work a certain way, instantly bumps your FPS by 10-15+. I've not used it for other games, but probably works the same way as Skyrim, and yeah the preset is loaded into each of the matching games.

Glad it worked for you, was just heading to Markarth myself to check the same spot! ;)

Anyone know how to get RadeonPro to work with Skyrim + ENB + Mod Organizer? If I run it normally or by adding it as an executable in MO it still doesn't seem to work.

I get micro stutter and want try and cure with RP but my settings dont seem to actually get applied.

MO uses a separate directory to keep the default one tidy and vanilla.
You can't use a seperate tool to launch MO to then launch the game.

Have you applied the 64hz stutter patch?
If so, launch the game through RP (Without MO) and see if the Micro Stutter is cured.

I've added real vision enb, and performance is fine but I actually think it makes the game look worse. I really don't see what the fuss is about!

Screenshots please, something doesn't seem right if you're saying that!
Did you install the correct ENB files?

Install ENBseries 0.262, and then install Realvision through MO/NMM & then do the post executable step to install the files properly?

I'm not, i'm using MO to RadeonPro (as you would with LOOT or TESS5Edit) and then MO to launce SKSE as normal. I'll have a look at the stutter patch.

Ah I see, sorry.
I don't think it will work, but it might?

Check out all the patches I have mentioned, they help fix a load of bugs.

@ ReaperGuy Here's the screenshots. It's a Dropbox link as I kept the full image size.

In my opinion...

  • Riften is all fuzzy
  • Inside Bleakfalls Barrow is so dark I can hardly see where I'm going
  • When it's snowing it looks, just, not right... like there's too much snow or something

Doesn't look right, any screenshots when the sun is at full, are they similar to mine around Riverwood & Whiterun?
Is DOF working?

Shadow's look OK, darkness can be altered if you press SHIFT + ENTER, I prefer it being so dark but can be changed.
Look for the interior shadow setting and adjust that.

What is DOF?

I'll get some screenshots with full sun...

To me it doesn't look like the ENB is even on.

When you start the game you get the ENB messages top left of screen?

Was thinking the same, but the shadow's looked darker than Vanilla so assumed something was working.

As above, when the game is launched the ENB series message should appear in the top left, and DOF is Depth of Field, if you look at some of my Screenshots you can see what I'm looking at is in focus but the background is blurred.
