The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Ouch!! JK mods tank my frame rates

Dawn of Whiterun + JK Whiterun = 20FPS, that's a 40+ drop :o
JK Riften = 30FPS

Can't really run those with an ENB

I'm having real problems getting crossfire to work, I've tried what it says in the OP but it doesn't work. I'm running RealVision with DOF disabled (I don't like it!). Does anyone have any ideas?

Are you running the OneTweak mod ? If so, disable it and Crossfire will work for you.. well, it did for me without having to do what says in the OP, hopefully will work for you too.

The disadvantage with not having OneTweak is (for me) I get a slight "cracking" sound from time to time when playing, not sure what causing it, but Crossfire working so that's good. =)

OMG ARGGHHHHHH IM SUCH A TWONK!

As someone rightly pointed out earlier, forcing AA in NV control panel, while retaining some mods, apparently disables ENB. So I disable AA only to find that ENB has now activated itself and the game looks twice as beautiful!

So for the last month I was playing it only half as good as it should look and I never realised because some of the graphical mods did activate. Now, of course, it looks amazing!

Doh.... oh well, good reason to go through it again I guess. :p

That fixed it, thank you! However, now I have a horrendous yellow flicker on the escape menu. Anyone have any further ideas?

Is this AA force set by default? I always thought my modded version didn't look as amazing as people were reporting theirs were looking!

I'm gonna have to revisit this game when I get my 970 SLI setup sorted...

I follow this guide to the letter and still get CTD :(

Could this be due to the fact that I need to use this TES5Edit to clean the mods?

I feel like my comp is running low on memory when im using gtx980 sli and 32gb ram :(

The infamous crash as your just about to reach Riverwood!

Mine was because the steam files themselves were missing, so I did a Verify Integrity of Game Cache which fixed the issue, try setting uGrids as mentioned as that'll help performance regardless & did you test as you installed the mods? - try disabling some of the new ones added.

is it worth using TES5Edit to clean the mods up?

Mod Organizer is saying I should consider doing it.

Hmm some may require it but a lot of mods are already TES5edited and working fine. Still though TES5Edit is great for seeing what mods are failing on game launch :D

I haven't used TES5Edit for any of my mods installed, although LOOT says I should.
I think it makes everything much more stable, but hasn't caused me any issues personally.

Might be worth trying knocking up uGrids and seeing how the game runs.
Not that it make's much difference personally.

Cant stop taking shots of this game. Verdant Grass now installed and a new outfit for Lydia. :)

Warning, there may be a couple of spoiler locations in this lot.

Like Lydias new outfit there, that red/orange makes her stand out bit better then the vanilla greyish outfit. May I ask what mod's you used (if more then one to make it work that is).

Yeah it took me a while to get alchemy and enchanting up to 100. They're both at ~110 now I believe as I'm using level uncapper. I got bored and made some crazy powerful weapons. I can single shot kill most dragons (and even dragon priests with the right potions, items and sneak damage) on Master difficulty. Made the game too easy, but well, I've now completed it three times haha. Had a armour set that was 3-4x higher than the damage reduction cap, but the challenge is to make the value as high as you can anyway :D Think my Deadric bow did something like 2500 damage with the right potions and enchanted archery items haha.

Might use that level uncapper, is the mod still within the game play.. part from able to make some overpowering weapons, just seem the default leveling aspects goes way to fast.. Only at lvl 13 since not played to long but an example is I leveled up to 13 just before entering Dustman's Cairn doing the Companions Quest: Proving Honor and once gone through it I not far from lvl 14 now, that just from the fighting and some lock-picking going through it. So if this mod slows down the leveling would be interested in it.

Also, I know you can put enchantments on your weapons (which one would be best for the bow though, just started playing game not long ago so still loads to learn.) but how do you use potions on them ?? Or is it just me being daft and you mean potions you can drink for better stats ? :o

You drink potion using ingrediants bought or found.
You enchant weapons using learnt enchantments and soul gems, you can however add poisons to your weapon.

Best for a bow would be a damage increase or bow speed depending on your style.
I normally add frost to slow them down & damage as I'm stealth character so the sneak bonus is incredible.
