The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Just tried Skyrim for the first time, have the official high rez textures installed and honestly I was suprised by how nice it looks. Every mod guide Ive read seems so longwinded and complicated. I've installed a few off steam workshop (nicer water, denser folliage, climate etc) and going to make do with that for now I think. How long is the main campaign?

News for Nexus Mod Manager users, they are using bits from MO

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/news/12414/?

It's been a year in the making but we're finally ready to release what we think will be our final build for the next major step in NMM functionality, profiling. The download link for this build is at the bottom of this article, however, before you rush off, I highly recommend you read this article as it contains important information about this version of NMM.

What is profiling?

Profiling is the ability to create and switch between multiple different mod setups within NMM to facilitate different playthroughs of your game. One profile might be for your axe wielding Nord with mods specific to that character while another might be for your Argonian thief with active mods that you wouldn't need in your Nord playthrough

I've added the enblocal.ini from enboost to replace my Realvision enblocal.ini, and now I'm getting this warning in red when I load.

Enboost is included in all versions of ENB from v0.200 onwards. The configs from the ENBoost page are for people who don't want anything but the boost.

So replace enblocal.ini with the one from realvision. Though you might want to have a look at the settings under the [Memory] tab in ENBoost and copy them through.

Double cursor is fixed by ENBoost and Safety Load is redundant if you use the skyrim memory patch :)

Double Cursour didnt work for me, despite following the instructions several times over. Alas.

Yes, I can confirm that the Double Cursor is sorted with ENBoost as well. Added the ENBoost the other day and had a quick look and no Double Cursor visable. Have to do a longer playthrough when I get time though to find out if it boosted the game in other areas for me as well. Although I only added the Nexus ones though.

Only had a quick look at his own web page about ENBoost but looked a bit more work to get the latest one, although was tired when read it so will have a better look when off from work next time. But if the Nexus one works for me might just leave it at that. =)

The main campaign is not actually that long but there are lots or large side quests like joining the companions at Jorrvaskr in whiterun, or the thief's guild in riften, or the the mages guild at the College of Winterhold, or the dark brotherhood in Falkreath or the the cival war quest.

Check here for information.

You also don't need the skyrim stutter fix if using my frame rate limiter tweak. I didn't realize that until last night when I was looking in the ini files and they both do the same thing pretty much. So I removed the stutter fixer and it's actually improved my game

I was experiencing micro stutter on a fresh install, did some searching and found a simple fix:

In Documents\My Games\Skyrim\skyrim.ini add iFPSClamp=60 under [General]

Smooth as silk now. Not really into role playing games but the environment and visuals are enough to make me want to explore.

If i install Dawnguard and Dragonborn now, it wont be as simple as just installing the unofficial patches right? I'll have to start over with the mods?

Just to answer this for myself, in case anyone else wonders:

You can just install the DLC without issues.

To be careful, i installed the DLC, installed the Unofficial Patches, and re-sorted the mods in MO before launching again. Everything is fine.

When it comes to adding the DLC to a modded save you can leave nearly everything as it is and some mods will affect the DLC content and some won't.

However most mods have versions for the DLC content so it might be in your interest to update to those version or download the plugins etc.

Though it can be quite a chore updating all your mods. I remember spending hours download, updating, installing/uninstalling and troubleshooting when I got the legendary edition.

I've stopped using an FPS limit to test whether it has any side effects. Not found any as of yet, though I am using an ENB and Boris claims to have fixed the physics problems.

ENB(boost) comes with a number of game fixes like that, though I use OneTweak for the same without the fps hit.

This guy is such a tool that stealing his throne felt really satisfying.

His uncle Dengeir who replaces him is no better, they're both tools in their own way.

Yes I used OneTweak at first but it also make it Borderless Window Mode which would prevent me from running the game in Crossfire. Also used DCF Plugin but thought I try the ENBoost since others also say it gives other improvements, although not had time to play for a longer period yet so wont know until then. Will keep an eye on the FPS and see if it changes anything for me.. =)

I'm glad I did a Skyrim reinstall, so thank you bug! It's looking and sounding fantastic, with birds in the trees, storms approaching and crisp textures. Even all the characters details and seams are perfect!

NMM has also come a long way, much better than the previous release which messed everything up

Yeah, Seasons is great - it's been my preferred enb now for a while.

A sad day for me yesterday - I hit the 255 plugin limit which not even the great MO can overcome.

Oh well :(

Oh that ENB does look nice. I lvoe how my game looks but it's so bloody dark! I literally carry a torch so i can search dungeons properly which really throws off the realism of my Stealth character :P
