The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

It doesn't bypass steam for me, just put it in your steam directory overwriting the old exe (making sure to back it up) and everything works as usual. So no I'm not talking poo.

I have been using the LAA patched exe with updates turned off and have been running it through Steam just fine. Getting achievements, chatting to friends and using the browser via the overlay all work as intended.

BUT, I can go to the skyrim.exe and run the game without Steam saying I am in game.

That is what the patch "fixed".

Just about to try this- HD Autumn forests grass and green grass

Looks good

I have also installed Real Snow in HD

and Highres roads

I have got all of the HD packs running now, combined they must do pretty much everything.

I've been using the HiRes Roads for a while - they're pretty good.

Besides that I use 2K Textures for some landscape replacements and Better Landscape Textures for snow textures.

Boosh moon

Was this you Arknor?

Installed straight away!

Check the author, it's clearly not Arknor's.

Does anyone know a way to start the Blood on the Ice quest? Theres no option at all for me. People mention the murders, theres a dead body in the graveyard with people around it, but nobody offers me a quest.

There's a general Skyrim thread for this, please don't spam this one with quests and spoilers.

I miss the days on Oblivion and a single, giant texture pack :(

It will come but the really good ones usually take time, Quarls texture pack for Oblivion wasn't released for a while after release but when it was perfected it was the best by a mile. It was the same with FO3 and New Vegas, there were loads of texture packs for New Vegas that were alright but not that great, then nearly a year after release NMC released his pack and it was far superior to the others.

Same with UI mods, DarnUI takes ages of testing before he actually releases it. There will be others in the meantime but it will be worth waiting for that one.

Coloured map markers, awesome little mod. Makes things so much easier to see. It basically colours all the major cities/towns blue and the quest objectives bright green. I always found it annoying that everything was white.

This would be amazing if we can get it so cleared locations are a different colour to discovered ones.

I would like something that give you more information in the miscellaneous quests screen. ATM i have loads of quests such as "talk to xxx" but there is no indication of who they are or why i would be doing it! Maybe someone will add something as part of a UI mod, all we need is a proper journal that at least gives you a little info on the quest.

Has anyone tried Rich Merchants, seems very handy as there is a ridiculous limit on vanilla merchants. There are 2 versions, one which gives most merchants 2000 and one which gives most merchants 10,000

The good thing about that is, it gives you an excuse to play through again :D.

Hopefully i'll have a better system by then as well.

Yeah, same here. Also got a few 'collect bounty' and I don't even remember what mission I did to get it. Seems a bit half arsed to stick them in a misc section with no descriptions tbh.

Is the RAM mod any good? Mine runs fine but, I was wondering, if I. Could address my 4 gigs, it might five headroom to push the visuals higher with other mods... opinions? I'm on an oc'd q6600...

in terms of texture packs, as mentioned above, its probably worth waiting until a big user mid comes out, although I like the looks of the hd night sky mod..
