So glad to hear they're releasing support for upto 4GB.

Yeah, me too. I haven't installed any mods because I don't want to break anything mid-way through a playthrough. But I hope this will get rid of some lag spikes.

Has skyrim updated today?
I now get a "The system cannot find the file specified" message when trying to launch the 4gbpatch exe.

I don't get this msg. I assume this is because I didn't put the exe in the skyrim folder and don't need to reinstall anything?

Same for me, the latest patch improved it slightly but it is still terrible, drops to around 25-30. Before the patch it went down to aroun 15 though!

I can't seem to find what causes it either, i can look at 2 (apparently) identical screens but get 60fps on one and 20fps on the other, the only thing i have noticed is that shadows make a hell of a lot of difference in some places.

It is only for AMD cards though. There are probably similar ones for Nvidia carsd if you have one.

There's hardly anything to break.

Textures, meshes and sounds don't replace anything, interface tweaks are separate files as well, esp mods can be loaded on demand, SBW, 4GB patch, ENB series, Injectors, all these can be easily removed without interfering with other files. ini tweaks can be restored by deleting the files and letting the game replace them.

What water mod is that? Or can you give a list of mods?

This is the mod I presume.

99% of the mods are in the Skyrim Nexus TOP100 so people could start bothering actually looking themselves.

Plus those screenshots don't look good at all, you could get much better with a few mods.

Started using the mod manager.

One question do I need to tick update.esm in the plugins tab?

Does anyone have the Potions mod as it seems to have gone from the skyrimnexus website?

It's been removed yesterday for some reason and hasn't come back yet.

It's available on Curse I think which leads me to believe that some people aren't happy with their uploads on Skyrim Nexus (i.e. Arrowsmith mod and now this).

Delete TESV.exe.4gb in your Skyrim folder.

New patch, broken 4gb fix - 1.4 is meant to include the LAA fix though, fingers crossed!

I thought it broke it but you need to delete the old TESV.exe.4gb in the skyrim folder. I also had to remove the FXAA injector I got a black screen if I used a FXAA injector with the 4gb patch.

skyrim4gb.exe works fine for me. At least I think it does, can launch the game fine with it.

I just launched as usual after the patch(with the 4gb exe) and it seems to be ok, though i have noticed some of the rock textures look a but blurry now.

It's been asked a number of times in the Comments section of that mod too so not much you have to do really to find out. And it's certainly easier than posting here and waiting for an angry reply from me.

No need to be so grumpy about it! I had never heard of the "TESV.exe.4gb", so didn't realise it put that in the Skyrim folder. There are quite a few LAA fixes out there too, so didn't realise it applied to the one I am using. Geez.

Edit: lol some more - after deleting TESV.exe.4gb, I get exactly the same error - think I will just wait for the next patch.

Edit 2: Nvm, it is scriptdragon that is causing the problem.
