The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Right i've reordered it :)

Now remove the Armour Improvement mod and replace it with something that really improves these textures instead of using a sharpen filter and a little colouring. ;)

High Resolution Armours - careful here, huge textures and a major improvement - apply before all other armour mods.

Same goes for Clothes Improvement, replace with Improved NPC Clothes.

High Quality Imperial Steel Shield is no more and instead it's called Accingite Vos now and improves all shields in game (install before other shield mods I think).

This is also a pretty good addition to the CBBE mod - Nocturnal Dress for Calientes Body Mod. (fap fap fap fap...)

Neil, see my edit to the previous post.

Immersive Hud: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3222

Makes the HUD fade away when it isn't needed. Nice unobstructed view of Skyrim :)

Ah yes, another great mod that improves overall experience.

How about Slof's Simple Horse Retexture?

I noticed lack of sound mods - Epic Enhanced Skyrim Soundtrack - something happened to the mod, I hope somebody has the latest version backed up because it was truly EPIC.

Also Enhanced Distant Trees - vastly improved tree LODs, install after all other flora mods. Great addition to Enhanced Distant Terrain. (in the OP)

I thought Midas Magic was always the very definition of OP. If I recall it was in Oblivion too, see no reason it won't be here either. Though Conjure Pickaxe would be very useful ><

I agree it's OP at the moment, as it's an alpha so no doubt a lot of tweaking and testing needs to be done. still as we dont yet have the CK tool it's not a bad effort just needs a lot of polish. I like the idea of the force push thing but i would rather it stagger an enemy than make them fly off like the vid shows. or maybe push them over at a higher level. It would be more efficient than using a shout as they have mixed results at times.

It's overpowered by definition, spells can be used on demand.

I loved that 2k texture pack but it killed my FPS. Went back to my back up texture folder (which in itself has a LOT of HD texture mods) and my FPS went up from 20 back to ~50

With 2K ~22FPS:

Without 2k ~50 FPS(various other mods instead):

Think I'll stick without. There is a difference yes, but it's not worth halving my FPS for IMO

Neil, mods order:

  1. Skyrim HD - 2K Textures
  2. Vurt's Flora Overhaul
  3. Any other sky, landscape and trees mods.

Also sort the categories out:

  • Game fixes (bug fixes, 4GB patch, performance tweakers)
  • FXAA Injectors/ENB mods/Custom shaders
  • Texture mods
  • Small details mods
  • Interface mods
  • Gameplay changing mods
  • INI tweaks

New list of FXAA Injector and other mods:
  1. iCCC ENB - Natural Shader Injector - my personal favourite, includes custom config for FXAA Injector v1.3 and ENB Series v0.096; most natural looking and minimum loss in fps when used with the correct Device ID and Vendor ID values;
  2. Skyrim Enhanced Shaders - the most advanced set of shaders for Skyrim, beta uses ENB Series v0.99 Beta; performance demanding;
  3. FXAA Post Injector v2 - the new version of the first popular injector mods, new settings, still behind other mods based on the FXAA Injector IMO; configurable options;
  4. FXAA Injector Custom Settings-More Colourful and Realistic without Unnecessary Effects - one of the more popular around here, unfortunately not longer developed; based on FXAA Injector v1.3;
  5. Himmelsrand Custom Shader Suite - a set of shaders based on the FXAA Injector, can be used with the older, "stable" version of SES;
  6. ENB Series homepage.

From the above choose one mod that will suit you best.

Add STEP guide at the top of texture mods for the suggestions for those that have a little more time and want to stay up to date with the latest mod developments.

Neil, are you going to edit the OP with my suggestions?

When you do, I can give you another list of mods worth installing.

I've been side tracked with other things lately, if you want to sort the listing out as you want it, for example as if you've done the op yourself I'll re-edit my op to your suggestion. Of cause giving props and updating it :)

The first release of SkyUI is out if you fancy changing some of your UI. Only effects the inventory at the moment but the magic screens are next :)

If you dont want your character to resemble Alistair Darling anymore, there is a mod that allows you to have eyebrows the same colour as your hair (Link). Maybe im picky but it was bothering me ;)
