The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

Hmmmm.... I'm roughly 60 hours in, level 39..... really enjoying the game and character I've built so far...

But the mod-bug is calling....

How is the game for mid-quest modding? it seems pretty stable by all accounts.

I now have loads of mods installed via the NexusMM and have no issues. As long as you're only installing graphical or menu type tweaks you're OK. I've refrained from installing anything that alters enemies/NPCs behaviour out of fear of breaking stuff.

Anyone managing to use Xfire? When I turn it on I just get immense screen flicker (which oddly enough stops when I pause it but continues when I resume), but turning Xfire off allows it to run fine. Happens with and without mods. Got latest caps/drivers as well as tried older ones.

UGH...seems hasn't fixed it completely as fast travelling occasionally causes a minor but constant flicker to happen. Then have to restart the game for it to go away :/

...but only happens occasionally, so can live with it.

Am not really sure... I did a fresh install I Jan, got the latest 12.1 drivers, Skyrim is the first game I installed... My phenom is oc'd to 4ghz... 8gb ram.

I did have sky boost but have removed that with 1.4 - on rare occasions I may have a stutter... (std for FO/TES/Bethesda )... Most of the time it's good though.

Literally zero messing around or tweaking.

I get the same thing. And while the game mostly runs fine with xfire, I still get a better frame rate with a single card enabled making it utterly pointless!

PISE works just fine, Wars in Skyrim should too.

Here's a list of my recommended mods:

I don't like the realistic lighting.... snow can lose its texture in places and the contrast is just too high in other places. I uninstalled that one after about 5 minutes! (mine was Realistic lighting without post processing which may be a different mod).

It's a different version of the mod, RLWPP isn't updated any longer.

I have a calibrated monitor and contrast is just fine with Realistic Lighting.

Would use ENB configs but the fps hit is too much for my liking.

Ah, I also get smoke/fire occasionally flickering but it is running far better with my second card enabled and my load times have also increased dramatically.

The steam update borked a few mods so I'm using the older .exe of skyrim but now I see there are a few updates for some of the mods but not others. If I update some of the mods will I have to update the skyrim .exe too or will the mods that have not yet been updated still work?

Dovahkiin hideout

Hi anyone using the above mod, if so can you help me out I've downloaded it but in game it tells me I need a key to open the trapdoor to the hideout. I own all the houses, is there a quest to get the key. thanks in advance.
