The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

The steam update borked a few mods so I'm using the older .exe of skyrim but now I see there are a few updates for some of the mods but not others. If I update some of the mods will I have to update the skyrim .exe too or will the mods that have not yet been updated still work?

What mods have you got issues with?

Are there any mods worth getting from Steam Workshop?

It feels safer to just use NMM in the meantime.

Dovahkiin hideout

Watched the video for the above mod and the guy moved an item from a table to a shelf manually what's the key controls for doing this. thanks

Press and hold the e key (by default). Then press it again to drop.

It's really frustrating that there's no rotate key. Some stuff seems to automatically right itself (eg: Staff of Magnus or other "top heavy" items)., so putting it where and how you want it is a 'mare.

Maybe watch the tutorial videos?

Just a thought....

There's a list of my mods a few posts above and another list in the OP.

What else do you need?

I'm now using NMM as it's much improved from when I first made this thread, however I always start my game via SKSE for SKyUI :)

Within NMM I presume - yep, that's handy!

OK so I'm getting a bit of tearing and I think I should try and fix it - it didn't really bug me up until now. I'm using an FPS limiter via Afterburner @ 55, but it seems I need to enable triple buffering as well. Am I just being blind, because I'm sure I read about this earlier and how to enable it?

ive found the steam workshop pretty good, good selection of mods after just a day, very easy to install and filters out incompatible mods.

Doesn't sort the load order or allow for mods customisation.

Not really compatible with SKSE unless you're planning on launching the game from the launcher every now you want to update your mods or lock ini files since official launcher will usually overwrite any changes when you upgrade anything.

Not to mention the search engine that sucks and lack of proper support system.

i agree the search isnt worth anything but for a official mod system its pretty impressive. few other games get this kind of support, i cant help think how good the TW games would be using this system for example.

i didnt say it was the best but first impressions are decent imo, the number available is growing fast with people uploading from nexus (in two hours its gone from 700~ to 1100~), its beyond simple to use and it autopatches the mods as well. for day one release thats pretty good.

With this steam system as well its only going to encourage people to make more mods because the barrier to get them is reduced. I bet people whom would never think of using mods may do so now.

The mod makers will have much larger audiences, which is one of the motivations for making the mods.

I have no mods at all on my game, and i feel like i am missing out.

At present, i can run the game smoothly, but i dont know my fps, but i can check this.

My question is, would i get a dip in performance, if i added a few of the graphical mods?

My specs are
Q6600 @ 3.4,
4gb ddr2 ram,
HD 5850
Res. 1920 x 1080

Probably not, easy to check though?
