The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

What are your thoughts on using any of those types of enhancements...?

Maybe its just me but whilst I can find them ok to look at on Youtube I do find that they are a little blurry in detail and the hit on FPS can be a bit of an issue. But maybe that is because I am not "fine" tuning them to look the best...?

As I said above, some have huge loss of performance whilst others have very little - and it's not always in tandem with how impressive they are visually. Best thing to do is find a few that you like the look of, and try them all out (making sure to restore the vanilla files before trying the next one), and see which you like best and gives a level of performance you're happy with.

Skyrim HD has added all his seperate downloads now for nmm and as i said before you don't need the huge single BSA pack. If you want textured dungeons then pick the full 1.5 dungeon one :D

Ive downloaded all the Skyrim HD "packed lose files" - can I just dump all of this into the /data folder? I dont use any mod managers and such! Not quite sure and a bit confused between these lose packed ones and the big massive download (the one with a split .7z archive)

Thanks for any advice :)

Thanks dude!! :D

anyone suggest a balance mod? ... one that balances smithing/alchemy/enchanting so they are not so powerful (like by a fair amount)?
I think I seen the main one blaance mod but wondering if anything else is recommended

Have been playing this for a while but been keeping quiet on this thread. About got my Skyrim where I want it now and also found use for 3gb vram. Crazy how much this game will eat if it's available.

@ Mr Krugga - thats a good plan, I'll head over to Nexus and download the NMM..bout time I learnt how to use it anyway..!

@ dazzerd - how do make your GPU temp & RAM appear onscreen? :D

So if I understand it right, you now have to use Skyrim Launcher to arrange mods?

If so, it is ridiculous that you can't resize the window!

What I did was to use BOSS to set the order method then copy that order (minus the extra bits that BOSS puts in it) to the plugins.txt file found in...

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Skyrim

then I checked that order through the official launcher but use the SKSE to then launch and play the game.

My plugins.txt file looks like this...

# This file is used by Skyrim to keep track of your downloaded content.
# Please do not modify this file.

For the time being I think that the above is one solution until NMM is adapted to control the load order again..?

Yeah, that is what I have done, still inconvenient though.

I just read a post by the guy who made NMM saying he is working on it, but he's a bit busy so it might be a while.

I agree it is a bit of a mess at the moment. At least it is being worked on and hopefully it will not be too long before it is resolved. For me the messy part isn't updating the mods I have, as the load order will remain the same, but if I apply a new mod.

The NMM was updated a few days ago and I thought that the update was the reason to reflect this very change, as the recent patch has been out in beta for a while.

I now need to remember to launch the game via SKSE and not NMM.
