Im new to this Skyrim modding, litterally got Skyrim a couple hours ago lol. Yeah I know, talk about missing the bandwagon.

Anyway, can someone explain this new update and how its affecting all the user made mods, does this mean many of the fan made mods dont work now due to the recent game update?

Wow, that ENB mod looks fantastic, I use iCEnhancer (modded ENB) on GTA4 and it makes so much difference. Think I'll try that out.

I've never understood the attraction of DOF. Maybe if you're really shortsighted in real life it looks right, but otherwise, NO!

I must admit, I quite like it. Its like playing the game through what a camera lense see's. Many professional looking photos have the main feature of the photo in focus and the rest slightly out of focus to emphasise the DOF. I love it. It just looks better to my eyes.

LoL if i saw that in real life i'd be straight to the nearest laser surgeon :D

Technically your eyes are always adjusting depth of field on the fly, people just don't notice it very well.

Best way to see it is look outside a window, then focus on the window. DOF YO!

Nice detailed tree stump in that shot but I also agree - DOF would be very annoying while playing. I feel its only value is in making nice screenshots. For THAT purpose its great! But not in-game. But thats the great part about Skyrim, customize the way *you* like it :D

Lol at people always moaning about DOF. Your eyes do this, try it next time/ if you step outside. Look at a lamp post and watch as the background magically blurs.

I find the DOF mods to be a little over the top, I tend not to stare at the crosshair when I play. If they could do subtle DOF like in mirrors edge, I would be great. Nice for screen shots though.

Doesn't translate very well to a screen though... there is a big difference to having things your not directly looking at being blurred in RL, and things you are directly looking at on the screen being blurry just cause your crosshair isn't on it.

Right guys, a noobie question.
Finally decided to use a few mods.
I download nexus mod manager, and then i download a couple of mods.
The map mod that shows all the roads.
And the HD texture mod.

my question is, do you have to have nexus mod manager loaded to see the mods in game?

No. NMM just downloads and copies the mods into the correct places. You do not need to have NMM running to play Skyrim with said mods active.

Just tried downloading a mod from Steam Workshop, as there is one that I like the look of which is exclusive to there. Why do they have to do it their own way!? I try and "subscribe" but nothing happens when I launch the game.

Oh well, I wasn't that bothered by it anyway.

Oh, and I am finding More Carriages to be very handy. Would recommend it!

Really recommend Immersive Environment! IMHO he has got the balance just right and it makes the game look awesome.

In the end I know visual tweaks are all very subjective but the great thing is that this mod is tiny (85kb) and takes seconds to get rid of if you dont like it. On Eyefinity and a HDTV it looks awesome. Cant wait for my console buddies to see it and weep :p
