The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

I was going to get back into Skyrim after seeing Superl3 ENB. After downloading and moving the files across to the skyrim directory I noticed pretty much no difference at all, other than the DoF which I promptly turned off. Night time in the game looks no different to vanilla, same for day time.

Have I done something wrong ? Do I need to add something extra to get those lovely dark nights seen in the video ?

if the dof is working then the rest should do. You can check if its on by pressing shift+f12 and switching between on/off.

I gave shift+f12 a go and there seems to be a very, very slight difference in looks from vanilla. There must have been another mod running in the video that he never mentioned. Oh well.

I think I'll give Immersive Environment a shot next.

@SPARC how high are your graphics settings? I suppose the higher they are the more difference you should see. There's massive difference for me running at ultra.

@Pighardia, I'm using lush trees. What don't you like about it? It just thickens out the tree foliage + gives high res textures.

Maybe it is conflicting, but I only installed it yesterday and suddenly all my trees just look a little out of place...hard to explain tbh. Maybe it conflicts with another mod. I will try and look at it in FNVEdit(I think that works with this)

They were up full but that doesn't matter anymore, I've given Immersive Environment a go and WOW massive difference. Looks incredible.

I can't believe just how blurry the vanilla game is and how bright it looks. this FXAA injector mod really makes the game look amazing in my eyes. I'll have to get some before and after shots up in HR screenshot thread.

Best of all I honestly can't feel a framerate hit. :)

All the lushes are great, I have trees as well. Those FXAA Injectors are brilliant and I like how you can ALT+TAB in and out of the game to play with the Injector sliders and then check out its effect in-game.

I prefer them to the ENBs in Skyrim. Where I DO like the ENBs is in GTAIV.

New BOSS and NMM :)

EDIT : Since updating all the updates are linking to the wrong mods before that it was saying NO DATA, hmmm buggy nmm update perhaps :(

Awesome mod, been using it since I installed Skyrim. When I first installed it, I didnt see much difference either, and there was something not right with my setup cos the whole screen looked like it had some kind of grey effect to it, like the contrast etc were not quite right, then I noticed there was something definately wrong cos, when I looked at the sun/sky the whole screen got darker/greyer instead of brighter.

But I solved it by downloading the 'my personal skyrim setting' on the download page of that mod. Its right at the bottom after the 'old versions' of the mod. Bascially it replaces two ini files in your my docs>my games>skyrim folder.

And wow, that cracked it...the game now looks amazing and exactly like the screenshots for that mod. Just stunning over the vanilla game graphics.

Which version is it now? Mine updated tp 0.15 yesterday and it proceeded to not let me add new mods, saying it couldn't find loadorder.txt. Tried a tip to copy plugins.txt to loadorder.txt and that made Nexus completely refuse to start. And also corrupted my last save as well. I uninstalled 0.15 and went back to the previous version as at least that worked. Is there a definitive way to install this latest version and for it to not bork things up?

Yeah, I've rolled back to previous versions, and just cancelled the updates for now.

EDIT: Seems Nexus guys been working OT this weekend:

NMM has now been hotfixed to 0.15.8 to resolve further crashing issues.

Nexus Mod Manager version 0.15.7 has just gone live on the release server and should be available when you start NMM (if you can start NMM) or from the download page for NMM. This is a hotfix patch to resolve the issues that 0.15.0 presented.

A big thanks to kaburke and wrinklyninja who have worked on a Saturday to get this out for us.

In regards to version 0.15.x of NMM it's important to note that while NMM is now using BOSS API to manage load orders NMM does not currently use BOSS's auto-sorting functionality. That means that your load order is still completely managed by you. Priority with this release has been to just make sure the load order functionality is restored after Bethesda and Valve changed it to accommodate Steam Workshop. NMM does ask you if you want to download the latest BOSS masterlist, but at the moment this will not have any effect on your load order. It will be patched in soon (you are safe to pick yes or no).

Anyone got an opinion on Lush Trees? It gets some good mentions, but I think it looks awful!

I think it looks great. You have to use it in conjunction with Vurts flora overhaul to get the best out of it.

I cant wait for the guy who is working on the 'static mesh mod' to get around to improving the trees. They look great from a few feet away but when you get close the pines are a blurry mess. It will be interesting to see what he does with it.
