It does net a small FPS hit of about 2-8FPS dependant where I am in the game, but it definately looks good once you get past the intial sharpening. I'm running a 6870, and 16xAF/4xAA as well as the rest of my mods and I'm usually running 40-60FPS.
Obviously how much an improvement you noticed would probably also depend on which FXAA injector/mod you're using

The sharpening and colours do make a massive difference. Sometimes I just stand around looking at things pressing the pause button to turn the effects on and off.

Just use the 2k 'lite' pack. It looks far better than vanilla, but it doesnt affect the fps. I'm using 2k lite and also the lower res serious landscape textures and am using a 1gb card with no problems.

Do mods auto-install or something? I mean..is there an advantage to adding mods through Workshop vs. downloading & installing from Nexus?
Guys - Ive only just woken up to this Steam "workshop" thing for Skyrim. Only noticed it today when Skyrim auto-updated through Steam
Anyways just wanted to clarify: is the "Workshop" an alternative to downloading mods from the Skyrim Nexus site?Do mods auto-install or something? I mean..is there an advantage to adding mods through Workshop vs. downloading & installing from Nexus?
Thanks![]()
