The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - MODS & TWEAKS

You know that realistic ligting mod, where you have to enable it in nexus then run a separate patcher doodahh outside of nexus, if you want to back to default lighting, do you have to do anything to "undo" the patcher, or is it a case of just deactivating the mod in nexus?

Deactivating it works just fine.

Thanks for that its an excellent post!

Just a heads up, Realisting Lighting 3.4 Beta includes a few other mods now, namely Alternate Sunglare, Vibrant Auroras, Enhanced Distant Terrain and Better Dynamic Snow (plus some HQ Snow textures).

Realistic Water Textures is no longer in development by isoku (the guy stopped working on Skyrim mods now) and has been taken over by WATER (OpticShooter). WATER includes GetWet and Wet Rocks mods as well.

So for me it goes like this:

1) Optimised Bethesda's High Resolution Texture Pack - 2048+1024 Hybrid (included in my previous link)
2) Skyrim HD - 2K Textures Lite
3) WATER with extras
4) Realistic Lighting and the other mods it comes with

Just got Skyrim.

I have a 550BE with 3 cores unlocked @3.5Ghz. 4Gb DDR2 @ 840Mhz and a GTX460 1GB than can do ~850Mhz core and 2000Mhz Memory. In other words, a reasonable mid(ish) range machine.

Would anyone be so kind as to let me know what the essential mods are to apply that will give a decent improvement in graphic quality, while not dragging down fps. Any other advice on "essential" mods would be appreciated.

Only SkyUI is essential to game play on PC. Everything else either fixes some minor bug or adds some new texture maps.

did my weekly quest/mod run today, love the mod community making some great stuff!

Are there any mods that overhaul the difficulty/levelling/scaling like some of the popular ones for Morrowind and Oblivion? I ended up quitting skyrim after 16 hours because I could one shot everything, and I'd only done the thieves guild from start to finish. I also stopped playing because I have a personal inability to easily 'choose' from a selection of given options, so I struggled to continue playing knowing that I was stuck with a limited perk selection.

I'm just looking for a small list of mods that would improve the overall game experience before I start again. Anyone have any recommendations? Primarily, I would like a mod that allows me to be everything, and not have to limit myself in perk selection, but rebalances the game so that the benefit of doing so doesn't affect the difficulty of the game.

Cheers!
