It is absolutely not acceptable - but alas it is par for the course with politicians, of every persuasion. He'll never be held accountable, so what does he have to lose? He could potentially become PM. Everything else is just platitudes to further himself. He is a populist, not an idealist.

What's surprising is that your surprised at this.

Nate

I'n not surprised, he is a career politician but when the stakes are so unbelievably high in what he is saying which go against what he thinks, what hope do we have if he actually becomes PM?

You know he is in favour of beginning to charge for the NHS? This money will will supposedly save by laving to put into things like the NHS?

He is a total fraud.

As an undecided voter I have to say that leave came across far better in that debate.

I know it's always easier to win people over by offering hope but the remain side is doing itself no favours by being so negative. Tell the British we can't do something and we'll always go against you, it's part of our stubborn charm. :p

Still undecided btw

Ok then, you don't give me £500 where you previously gave me £500 and I bought you £300 of stuff you needed.

So you stop giving me £500 and instead you buy your £300 of stuff you need.

Have you saved £500?

This isn't that challenging, it doesn't take a genius to see right through the £350m claim which is inaccurate even if it were just a figure of initial outlay. The only way you can possibly claim that you're saving the entire EU contribution is to not send any funding to the areas that benefit from the rebate, but it becomes impossible to then also claim that you're some sort of friend of public services and make an emotive hospital building argument.

No, but I also haven't gave you a penny, which means I don't have to rely on you to give me anything back. I don't even know you.

Erm.

You do realise that the figures from full fact, are roughly the same figures from the link you provided? Neither say we pay £350M a week..... they both agree that after the instant discount, we pay around £250M..

From your own link:

In 2015, the UK’s full membership fee would have been £17.8 billion. However, Britain doesn’t pay that full fee.

Because of a deal negotiated by Margaret Thatcher in 1984, Britain gets a “rebate”, an annual reduction in contributions.

Last year, that rebate reduced our contribution to £12.9 billion. That’s around £200 for every person in the UK.

12.9Million per year, works out at about £250M a week.. not £350M..

Boris wants whatever furthers his personal position because whatever happens will not personally affect him in any negative way.

And you think the 3 witches on the IN campaign don't want to further their career? One thing is clear, Boris is calm, measured and very intelligent. He deserves a pay rise, when they give them out.

Leave were so much better tonight.

Phenomenal news about Dennis Skinner backing leave, a proper man of the people left winger. That and lexit the movie (the left wing case for leaving) will hopefully open up quite a few people's eyes to what the EU is really all about.
