Khan being an ex Human Rights Lawyer was the main reason I was opposed to him becoming mayor of London, far more than anything else. The term is associated by many, myself included, as someone who amasses a fortune, often from the taxpayer, by making someone fairly happy with their lot believe they have been grossly trespassed. They often do this with total disregard to their country's financial well being and even its security.

Some of Sadiq Khan's prominent cases are listed on his Wikipedia page. Personally, I'm extremely glad to have solicitors out there fighting cases of Police excess and racial discrimination (which most of his cases seem to concentrate on).

As for Human Rights costing government money, this would largely be avoided if the government simply ensured that it and its agents (i.e. the Police) behaved correctly in the first place and, in any case, seems to me to be a very small price to pay for living in a fair and just society.

You don't need to believe Freakbro, just read the respective laws in the various European countries. The requirements are there.
I don't trust that those laws will remain untouched if we vote to remain. Brussels is already threatening to fine countries for not taking Merkel's migrants.

You're right, the laws won't stay the same, in fact they are already changing...a lot of countries are tightening the rules and extending the time required to be eligible, not relaxing them.

Oh and they are Merkels refugees, not migrants, quite a big difference....as the ones you are talking about are the result of a humanitarian crises.

That's not the point though, as once they pass the criteria and get an EU passport they could move here yes.....BUT....the point you all fail to answer is :-

Once they have passed the criteria, which is :-
Being resident for 5-7 years (increasing)
Becoming a citizen
Being able to speak the language
Being economically active

So once they have spent that length of time building up contacts, friends, working/running businesses, what is going to be their motivation to just up sticks and move to Britain en masse when they finally get their EU passport in Germany/France/Italy etc?

What logical reason do you have to think that would happen?

You have a fixation on colours. Weren't you suspended recently or had posts delete over comments on colours?

You're just too sensitive :) I feel terribly sorry for anyone so uneasy they search posts for the most tenuous reference to colour, however out of context it may be to a racial slur. As I am sure you know, people's colours in the context of my post refers to "nailing their colours to the mast" showing their intent. I doubt even the most Liberal would ban me for that, not that it would really change my life :)

He forgot to mention that in his future EU utopia all our energy needs will be supplied by pixie dust that only emits concentrated love as a bi-product.

What on earth has that got to do with what we are talking about, oh I know, you have no answer when challenged so have to resort to posting like a numpty.

And people say they want a proper debate....

Let me put this simply for you :-

Why do you think they will move here en masse once they have settled in another country, spent years learning the language, building their new life and becoming economically solvent?

Racists are easy to spot, they're the ones who bring up race first.

I'm not saying they will, but when I see someone asserting that none of the hundreds of thousands unidentified migrants will ever be allowed to come here I feel compelled to say "hey, you don't know that".

Is it like Scientists For Brexit where the leader is a political history graduate and half the list are PhD students? :p

They seem an experienced group of economists to be honest, but I'm sure a Uni student in a non-economics related field will be along shortly to tell me they've found a flaw in the groups predictions.

I've never been the one asserting what the future will be.

Not many people are....but you can using logical reasoning, rather than irrational fear, to extrapolate potential scenarios.

So every time the 'They will get passports and come here' crowd spout off, all we have been asking is what is your logical reasoning for this, based on the criteria of getting the passport and we have had 0 answers so far.
