This settlement is going to be nothing but a liat of limp wristed sweeteners intended to fool us into thinking that we did well. The emergency brake is worthless. I guarantee you it will be reversed within 2 years of being implemented. Even 4 years is no good. Needs to be permanent. No benefits until you've paid in for 4 years. There should be no negotiations on that one.

Benefits was the least of my worries!?!! I wanted an emergency brake on immigration!

David Cameron just got it all arse backwards yet again, don't be fooled everyone the announcement is going to be a complete farce and a media circus, trumpets will be played by DC like it's the second coming but when people look at it it's going to be 4 lines on a mostly blank piece of paper and those 4 lines are going to be things we already have.

What a very, very short memory people have when it comes to the great European Union...

Not wanting to repeat myself, but..

Do you honestly put that much faith in our politicians, regardless of party, that similar will never happen again?

I certainly don't, nobody should!

The sooner people wake up and realise that the European Union is on the road to failure the better. There really isn't that much Unity through the EU, now is there.

So you're not worried that Britain will be forced to stay in a closer EU, you're worried that its politicians, the ones you vote for, will accept it.

I wanted an emergency brake on immigration too, but that was never going to happen. I don't care what he's got personally, if there's no stop on immigration, I am voting out. End of.

Agree.

Yes, a closer connection to the EU does frighten me.

I was merely making the point following your reply asking how the UK will be forced to join a closer political union.

It's quite clear that regardless of which main political party you or I vote for that they will continue to move ever closer to Europe.

If Cameron was smart, he'd have questioned/pushed for an EU wide minimum wage.

This would have eliminated the concerns over economic migrancy from Eastern Europe whilst maintaining the benefits of being in the EU.

You think small businesses in countries like Poland can afford minimum wage? Not a chance. Minimum wage in Poland is something like £300pm. You think they could suddenly jump it to a grand a month? No chance. Not without us subsidising it somehow

I'm all for staying in the EU. To leave, you need to convince people like me to change or mind.

You can argue for better fiscal control.
You van argue for better immigration control.
You can argue a drop in red tape.
You can argue for putting Farage out of a job and deporting his wife.

Fixed it for you. ;)

Please do go on about the benefits of being in the EU?

The EU is as bent as hell, lets see how far you get never having your accounts signed off.

Bent and corrupt, lets get out now and get our own house/country in order.

Then maybe in 10 years time we might think about joining again, but as it stands now just GTFO. ;)

I say I'm married top an immigrant, and you can't see why I'm pro immigration?

Spurious Correlations, i will be doing the same, why should that make me pro mass immigration?

My gf is Chinese, even under the UKIP point system she would have breezed in. Unless your wife is a unskilled benefit-taking layabout?
