If there's so many blinkered people that we vote to stay in, it'll give the EU a free pass to systematically rape the UK economically and socially, we'll become the dumping ground for EU ***********

"Dumping ground"? Poor us, having those hard working foreigners coming here and working hard in our economy. It's terrible that they're net contributors to our government's coffers; more likely to be working than our native population; better educated on average than our native population; and responsible for economic growth*. Immigration to the UK is a good thing, we should enjoy it while it lasts.

* - one of the great ironies of the Tories economic and social position is that we're only enjoying the GDP growth we are because they've so drastically failed to meet their own immigration standards.

Cameron has today once again dodged the question of how many referendums there will be if we vote Out.

We can't vote Out it will not be allowed even if it takes at least one more referendum we will be bounced into staying - period.

Just as long as people voting to Remain understand that's what they're voting for and not the status quo.

The problem with EU oversight and regulation of the City of London is that they can then (and probably will) start to make Frankfurt the European hub for the financial services industry.

Frankfurt would be at a level playing field with London, I very much doubt there would be any large change if the UK remains in the Eu and more regulation si brought in EU wide.

What will happen without doubt though is if the UK leaves the EU then London will definitely decline as a financial hub and Paris and Frankfurt will just get stronger.

It will as Scotland grows used to a world with low-barrel prices. There's a strong correlation between support for Scottish independence and the oil price - in fact the SNP only started up when North Sea oil was discovered.

Eh... No its around 100 years old.

So why do Poland oppose any policies that would stop us stealing all their talent?

The person in control of the army is in control of the continent. The idea of an EU army is abhorrent

Do you practice the art of delusion or are you just naturally good at it?

If the financial consequences of actually leaving the EU are too great, then the government wouldn't follow through with it. It is possible that we can arrange a Switzerland deal which will allow financial services to be passported into the EU. Do you not think that avenue would be worth exploring?

The end result is that we will be forced to accept many terms, conditions and rules set out by the EU with no way to influence said rules. Like Switzerland and Norway we will most liekly have to accept freedom of labour movement for example, but wont have any vote in the matters of things like the recent refugee crisis, we would just have to accept what the rest of the EU nations democratically decide.

Personally, i see that as a big step backwards.

Because it's a democracy and the people like having free right to work.

Right, so Poland should ignore their own economic prospects in favour of their hard workers' desire to move to where the highest wages are, whereas in the UK our citizens are wrong to complain about the freedom of movement policy because it's good for our economy?

You can't have it both ways.

What are people's views on Turkey joining the EU?

It would appear that the mainstream political parties are in favour of this, though I can't say that I am massively keen on the idea.

UKIP's take on things here;

Unlike the rest of the EU, Switzeland can opt out of freedom of movement.

"Switzerland initially granted freedom of movement to EEA citizens in 2005-2011. It briefly reimposed restrictions in 2012-2013, but lifted them again in 2014. However, as a result of the popular initiative "Against mass immigration", Switzerland is scheduled to impose permanent quotas on residence/work permits for citizens of all EEA countries except Liechtenstein, starting from 2017 at the latest. [25][26][27]"

The Swiss pay substantially less to the EU budget as well.

Cherry picking quotes.

I watched most of that debate and that line of tack was comprehensively defeated.

The campaign of disinformation is well under way.

Trust good ol Nige to bring it all back to reality.

I voted leave in the poll but I don't understand how on earth the threat of London losing the throne of Europe's financial center could be "comprehensively defeated"? So Nige knows that the rest of Europe won't try to move the hub elsewhere? Does he 'know' how much we benefit from European business? Do you/him have a clue what you're on about? Comprehensively defeated...... just stop.
