Everyone I know will vote out now. Nothing wrong with the old visa system.

It's visa free for Schengen zone anyway of which the UK isn't part!

Until 2 days ago Turkish citizens could visit Russia visa-free to. This is a non-issue, let alone an issue that should affect whether you vote yes or no in an EU referendum. The reaction to this is incredibly surprising. Turks can also visit all of South America without a visa too.

Well apart from, "OMG IMMIGRANTS, TERRORISTS, THINK OF THE JOBS AND WOMEN" I haven't heard much from anyone on why we should leave? Very much on the IN for now until someone starts coming up with those compelling arguments.

I never mentioned any of that. So I don't see why you quoted me.

Because you are specifically commenting on the change to the Visa requirements

You even said 'Nothing wrong with the old visa system' to clarify that you were talking about the visa requirements

I recently went to a Leave Europe meeting, hosted by the EFDD http://www.efdgroup.eu/

Louise Bours, MEP was there and some of the stuff she spouted was utter rubbish, she had a knack of telling the audience about certain pieces of legislation, it sounded convincing.

Where she fell down was when she was challenged by the Barrister that I went with, he just happens to be an expert on the subject of EU law, when taken to task she had absolutely no idea which legislation she was referring too.

The host had to step in to save her blushes, according to him, it was unfair of him to expect her to know what piece of legalisation she was commenting on.

:D it's not hard to imagine they're completely unprepared for questions on their views. It's not even like Cameron backs up his views on the spot he's just better at sidestepping questions that don't fit his pre written responses.

I'll be voting out. I struggle to think of anything that I actually like about the EU project.

There must be some aspects you like. How about some of the consumer protection legislation? Had a delayed flight recently?

For me I've not decided which way I'd vote yet - there are aspects of the EU I really like, and aspects I really dislike. It's actually a very difficult question.

Pretty much my view.

Interestingly, at that event I went to, the Working Time Directive was portrayed as something bad about the EU.

I imagine it's like that, the politicians and campaigners from both sides we be using the shock and awe "soundbites" . When challenged just go opened mouthed and start stuttering constantly.

I'd love to challenge Cameron in person

What legislation was it about?

What else got said?

Any stuff your mate agreed with after?

Consumer protection? I don't know much about that, but does having the EU legislate on it make it stronger/more effective than letting the nation states decide by themselves?

Legislation regarding the free movement of people was the main one, ultimately she did not which and under what conditions people could move within the EU.

She also blamed the rise of TB in the UK on EU immigration. I went home and did some brief research and her comments were absolutely wrong.

Incidentally, her party, UKIP want more immigration from Commonwealth countries, which is rather surprising as migrants from India are at the top of the chart when it comes to TB infections.

I imagine any arguments against the working time directive are crafted along the lines of "they want to make us as unproductive as the lazy French" or something about it stifling our noble British business owners.
