"BREXIT campaigners have today hailed Toyota’s vow to remain in the UK even if Britons vote to leave the EU - with the car giant’s pledge exposing the “lies” of Europhiles"

Well done.

Companies aren't going to abandon the UK if we leave the EU. Anyone with half a brain can work this out. Nice to see companies coming out and saying it though.

We were told exactly the same things whilst being pressured to adopt the Euro.

'IF THE UK DOESN'T ADOPT THE EURO YOU ARE DOOOOOMED!!! FOREIGN INVESTMENT WILL STOP, COMPANIES WILL ABANDON SHIP, ETC!!!!!'

Yawn. People with half a brain realised this wasn't the case.

Seeing it all again.

In a perfect world the EU would go back to being just a trade union. But that ship has sailed. I don't agree with another level of Government on top of ours. Few other small bits here and there. But basically I'm oot.

Lack of border controls are the sticking point for me. All you've got to do is walk over Westminster bridge to see why. Restricting the freedom of movement isn't even on the EU reform agenda. So I'm out.

What do you see?

I used to walk over there a lot and didn't see anything that would imply a lack of border controls.

What do you think the UK response would be if the Spanish did that? Just sit back and take it I imagine...

Scare tactics. Yet again and a load of **** to boot

Out of interest what do you think the UK would do if the Spanish shut the border crossings?

The most likely scenario, what they do at the moment - complain to the EU.:D

The government can't send in the Royal Navy and blockade the Spanish ports anymore.

The problem with macroeconomics is that there's no control sample when decisions are made. How do we know that there wouldn't have seen more foreign investment if we'd joined the Euro?

It's pretty clear that Brown's decision not to join the Euro was the correct one that decision wasn't based on potential foreign investment.

It wasn't the tourists, you know full well what i was talking about (the 3 cups gangs and the crowd around them which were mostly made up of gang members)

Well if even GD which I consider right-wing in most aspects is voting (by a narrow margin) to stay in the EU then I'm pretty confident that the general public will vote to stay in as well.

The EU issue isn't that straightforward, though. I imagine there are very many left-leaning voters who will be voting to leave.

Yet I never remember feeling threatened or scared, and very rarely saw anything of the sort.

Unfortunately most of it is in your head.

How do you see the UK's future relationship with the EU?

Many leave campaigners talk about Norway or Switzerland as models of how we might relate to the EU after a split yet both of these countries allow free movement of EU peoples under the terms they access the common market. It is extremely doubtful that the UK would be allowed to access the EU common market without allowing free movement so if you're voting out on the grounds of free movement how do you see the UK relating the EU afterwards?

We buy more off the EU than we sell them.

The question should be how the EU relates to us. Balls in our court.

All we have to do is remove all trade barriers inflicted by the EU and move onto a free trade economy.

Happy days.

Yup, Plenty of labour voters with strong opinion on the immigration situation. They will be the ones forced to live with the problems immigration is creating.

Hoping we vote out tbh.

You'll never find that data because it doesn't exist, neither does any data on what will happen if we stay in the EU. You have to use your judgement.

The general public are making this decision because it's been a long established principle that in Britain the people should decide who governs Britain; in this case it's a choice between an elected Parliament in the nation's capital or some appointed individuals (e.g. Peter Mandleson) from each of the 28 member nations in Brussels.

How can people actually want to give up our self determination, regardless of any other issues that arise, surely this is a no brainer

You will be very much disappointed if you think voting out will reduce immigration.
